I'm in. I can drive, I can take at least 1, maybe 3 if I rent, which might happen as I'm having a hard time with pedals and overlap (another thread, another day)

so we should start to figure who is riding with who.

the Daewoo (car #1)--------------------------- the_loin, 1 seat open, maybe 2 more open, tba

the ? (car #2)---------------------------
the ? (car #3)---------------------------

BlastRadius, I have no problem picking you up, if you want my 1 open seat.

MattyO, are you driving? If you're coming via 280, that's the easiest way to pick me up. If you're heading down 101, it would be out of the way to come get me.

I'm definitely gonna go. My friends Mo and Kristen are coming with me (non-forum peeps). I have an old, small BMW, but I might be able to squeeze in a 4th person.
I can't really bring any bikes, though. Maybe I can fit one in the trunk with both wheels removed.

I don't think I'll be able to take anyone, to confirm. I doubt that I'll get a trunk rack by next Saturday, and I am planning on bringing my conversion.

Only 30%. Anyway, forecasts beyond 3 days are only best guesses.

Don't know if this has been said, but I was just reviewing the page and noticed you need to bring your own pedals for those using the rental bikes; also a helmet (kind of obvious) for everyone else.

Speaking of pedals - are most of you into riding clipless at the track? I ride clips & straps in the city mostly but when I go on long rides I use look road pedals & shoes (no grip for walking whatsoever); which would be better at the track? I'm thinking clipless...

Hoping for no rain!

Also, track drops VS. bullhorn drops at the track.. this is another thing I swap back and forth between but prefer the bullhorns. Any dis/advantages to horns at the track?

I'd go with clipless if you have it.

According to a post on the first page...I don't think horns are allowed.

hey, y'all are still planning on going, right? I definitely am.
I heard that bullhorns are NOT an option. to be allowed on the track, you must have drops, a helmet and NO brake.

I wrote an email to George Miranda, one of the contacts on the drome's website, asking him about rentals. He wrote back:

Hi Matt,
Good to hear you've got a good group coming down to Hellyer.
The board of directors recently purchased several new bikes and they
are mostly in that size range so you shouldn't have any problems*renting
a bike in your size. *My advise would be to get there as early
as possible, early bird gets the worm you know.
By the way, Mark Altamirano and Richard Brocke will be supervising the
new rider session on the 19th, I'll be handling the session on the 26th.
Have fun on Saturday; George

the size range in question was 49-50.

yes! i assume this comes just after the heavy drinking in the parking lot?

i used to have those screw-on punkrock spikes on my bar plugs on my bullhorns. extra scary. when people asked about it i told them it was to get pedistrians out of the way.

Yeah, I know...

Stupid rain. I wanted to do some riding this weekend, my wife has to work on Saturday and I don't want to end up sitting around the house all day with nothing to do...
