Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

it's just an A frame with B cranks. I simply dislike anything but road/track clipless pedals or road/track clipped pedals on fixed gears.

snap! good memory. There's nothing wrong with using a rumrunner for an errand bike.

PS- I decided against it.

Bikes: N+1+1+1+1+1 etc

I'm late in coming to the fixed-S/S scene as I will be collecting my free bus pass is a couple of years, but a fixed gear bike was always something I wanted. So last year I set myself a target to get myself accredited at our local velodrome and therefore my mission was to find a track bike suitable for me to ride indoors.

I found this Ridley Oval advertised 350 miles away and done a deal and it was delivered to me long before I became accredited for track riding
The only changes I have made to this is to replace the bars with Pro-Vibe carbon track bars and replace the stem with a Deda 100 Elementi Pista 17° stem

Last autumn I decided I didn't want to cycle around our salt covered roads on my carbon framed bike so I bought a Genesis Skyline which was 4 or 5 years old and had done a total of 20 miles, it was like brand new apart from the price tag
Last winter I cycled over 2000 miles on it and managed to do a Strava Gran Fondo on 2nd January covering 89 miles and 5200 feet of elevation

Then in April I was offered a Fort Veto RO.78.DB2 which required a bit of work, I dabbled with bullbars but then decided they were not for me

Finally for now I managed to buy a used Giant Omnium frameset and built this up

Thanks to Retrogression for the seatpost, stem, and bars. Everything else came from elsewhere.

Thank you, kindly!

I've put that frame through many builds never being quite satisfied. I'm glad I found a good commuting build for it!

I'm still experimenting with handlebars and probably not going to keep the Nitto RB-021s pictured -- hence no bar tape (for now). If anyone local is interested in buying them, let me know.

If you want bulls, maybe try RB-001 or RB-002 (depending on stem clamp size) for something that has a flatter profile. When I looked at your bike pics I kind of liked the before pictures more but that was because the bars were taped.
