Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: Yes

Just built up my first good fixed gear. 2007 Raleigh One Way. I wanted a fixie, and suddenly I find all the parts I need to build one. Do need to buy some tires for it, 700x23 white tires look pretty strange in a frame that could fit 700x45 easily. Haven't had much chance to ride it yet, but fun so far.

Great start ! A pair of Panaracer Pasela Tourguard 700x35c will look great on it.

I still need to cut down the bars and seatpost, and it's at the LBS right meow getting the hydro lines shortened. Hopefully I'll get a chance to ride it on Wednesday.

Yeah, mine is 23 y/o too. Actually did some cross country MTB races on it back in the 1980s before everyone had suspension. I've got hybrid tires on it now and still occasionally do some single track with it. Unfortunately, it's got a pretty bad frame weld crack at the seatpost clamp that goes all the way through. It's actually gotten a lot worse since I took those photos about 5 years ago.

Kilo team to replace my crushed gold kilo. I like it so far, bars could go down a smudge, and levers could go up a smudge, but it's fine for now.
