Track ends =/= track bike

linus 02-15-13 08:08 PM

I'll stop. It's not worth it.

yummygooey 02-15-13 08:10 PM

TMonk 02-16-13 12:35 AM

yo theres a big difference between riding something like a LOOK 596 or Cervelo T1 on the street than like a FTP or even Pista Concept

im not saying i wouldnt do it if I could afford to. Totally would. I would just know that it was sensible.

hairnet 02-16-13 12:49 AM

None of us ride fixes because it is sensible or practical. If you think you are then you're an ass :P

TMonk 02-16-13 01:03 AM

true

and i think that can be generalized to all bicycles to a large extent

TMonk 02-16-13 01:07 AM

i ride about equally as much for enjoyment and I do to manifest certain OCD and goal-driven aspects of my personality.

GENESTARWIND 02-16-13 04:05 AM

that video is ****ing awesome scrod.

my bike doesnt have track ends so i guess im in the clear.

jacksonjackson 05-08-14 08:39 PM

Has anyone tried Time Atac Alium with fixed gear?

MattoftheRocks 07-27-14 09:54 PM

Look quartz and specialed elite shoes- both are overdue for replacement. I'll probably get another set of quartzes. Im leaning towards sidi when these current shoes crap out.

I ride CrankBrother eggbeaters and Chrome Industries Kursk Pros. Love my setup and I can walk around with my shoes on with minimal cleat click.

jr59 07-28-14 06:43 AM

whats wrong with ridding a T1 on the street?

Besides the fact that those who are complaining can't afford to do so.

Ride your own ride.

TMonk 07-28-14 01:35 PM

It's totally jack.

But that's not necessarily a bad thing. As hairnet pointed out, the exact opposite of a jackass is an a$$hole, and no one likes an a$$hole.

Just got these for my Shimano M520s after rocking some DZR Jetlag Nero's for a bit.

Lower and flatten your saddle.

I've since adjusted the angle of my saddle but it's at the right height for my size, just looks a little drastic because my bars are so low

mihlbach 08-04-14 12:45 PM

Its a common mistake to angle the saddle forward like that. Bar height has got nothing to do with it. Generally, if you bring the nose up, you'll need to lower the saddle a bit to bring it to the right level. A forward angled saddle puts too much weight on your arms and will cause your hips to roll forward, which crushes your perineum.

I don't know how experienced you are or what your own personal idea of comfort is. I'm just throwing that out there.

I definitely appreciate the words of advice. I didn't get into fixed gears until a few months ago so I'm still learning alot. Going more even on my saddle has helped with comfort alot.

Thanks again!

I use downhill Shimano pedals and Scott Spd's. http://i59.tinypic.com/u0jlf.png
