ThimbleSmash is asking about a polo bike. Polo bikes tend to run much lower gearing. 35-38 T on the front and 21 - 22 T on the rear.
The chainring is not removable/changeable on this bike as it is part of the crankset. So a gearing change up front would mean getting a new crankset.

After reading about the Fixie deal I visited my local Target and found out that even though all Targets carry almost the same products, brands and items not all Targets have sale prices on the same items. My Target manager said the Magna Fixie is normally $119.99 and is "reduced" to $99.99.
This is a far cry from $59 and change. He said he would take my name and number and call me if they are told to clearance the bike.
I am not holding my breath for a return call. Good information and some Targets will carry that Fixie at the clearance price.
Unfortunately I'd spend $200 in gas and $80 in tolls to drive to New York to get one at that price
Wardie
PS if anyone knows of a Target in NE Ohio that has that price please post it.

Bead diameter is 622 mm; diameter of tire at the tread is (nominally) 700 mm.

Went down to Target and had a look at the 59.99 Manga Fix-D. It does have a flip flop hub, more about that later. The brakes are pressed steel, the tires are grreeeeen, and the famous Manga crankset with the crankarms that seem to weigh 10 lbs and the chainrings that seek too light to hold up a chain are there for the classics seekers. Replace those and you might have a nice fixie on your hands . It does have a threadless headset and what appears to be a nice saddle . I went and bought a used hybrid instead. When I mentioned the flip flop hub to my wife when explaining why there was not a new bike in the garage, she said " A flip-flop hub ? 2 different cogs or a freewheel and fixed ?"
I was so proud.
Free wheel and fixed, BTW . Pretty nice offering for Manga . Or Magna, if you insist. Kinda heavy for a single speed.

Dang. Where would you get tires for that? Is that the Genesis Onyx ? I think that a 29'er . With coaster brakes. Egad.

My son and I bough a couple of them and fixed them up to suit us. His is completely stock except for removing parts. It turned out OK and lost a lot of weight in the process.

I had to change the seatpost on mine because the stock one was too short. I ended up with more of a FGFS look, but needed the BMX bars to bring the bars level with the seat, obviously the frame is too small for me.

I only have about 50 miles on it and have enjoyed it so far, the 38mm tires help soften the ride and the pseudo-track frame make it fairly nimble. It did require a lot of maintenance to get it rideable, including changing the rear cog because it was so out of round.
To quote Anthony Bourdain "It doesn't suck". Not bad for 36 bucks.

Probably a whole different track but the concept of removing all the brakes as in the above picture seems... foolish. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Speaking of brakes, I am surprised by how well these POS brakes work. I had to bend the caliper legs to set the toe in, but once i did that, they actually stop the bike. I though that was the first thing I would have to change.

anyone in Northeastern Ohio find any Target stores that have this bike for $35 or $59.95? Everyone I have seen was $99 or $119

i know someone who got this bike prior to this sell, the tire literally crushed on him while he was riding, and luckly no cars were around.
i would still pick one up for $35, but someone mentioned diamond bar is the only place around me in ca, and they are all out...no surprise there.
