Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

All that is needed is to drill another valve hole in the rim one spoke over. Problem solved.

I had wondered about all that tall stack crap, until I saw some of the bikes ridden by those who always always bring it up.

That's why Cheryl was the first girly name to come to mind, haha.

I mean, I couldn't have called him Angie.

The old adage about sleeping dogs is perfectly applicable to wives.

These things are putting a real damper in my active lifestyle. crowding the bike paths with people who have no idea how to ride. I'm sure there will be a death soon.
I am glad people are getting into it, but some people just shouldn't. You don't own a bike for a reason, so don't rent them and cause problems.

Ok, done venting. Anyone try these? how do they ride?

They weigh like 50 pounds and ride like ****, but I'm not really bothered by them. I've actually seen, on occasion, some people blasting what seemed like 35 kmph on those.

Consider the alternative--them in cars.

Consider it a move toward a paradigm shift. The shop I work at is a city subsidized commuter facility with a bike share and bike rentals, it really helps to get people out of their cars. Cycling isn't only for "cyclists".

Craigslist is giving me winners this week. I did see a kilo with b43's for 600 today but that's just a jackass owner, not a JA bike.
