I have that topo klettersack, great pack. My only issue is sweaty back.

gf bought me some raspberry habanero jam from her trip to Co recently for a friend's wedding, so im grilling some chicken
jam-olive oil-soy sauce base, chopped jalapenos, sliced peaches, cayenne, little dab of mustard. brushed on about 1/2 way thru. i cant wait 2 eat this! good thing ill hav leftovers

anyway, i would get a polar fs3. can be had for ~60 bucks.
it doesn't have any fancy features, but it does provide a reliable measurement and a simple average (the only calculation) for a real-time duration. the only thing kinda useful it lacks is time spent in zone, but if you are going to execute a long ride or even an interval ride based on heart rate, you should know what to aim for anyway (or tape it on your stem).
heart rate zones are highly variable but reasonably accurate indicators of your exertion level. you don't need all the fancy data cause the extra resolution doesn't really mean anything. for example I have done separate 1.5 hr rides at 167 and 173 bpm at the same power output before, a week apart.
make sure it has a chest strap

Awesome man, have fun! I used to get my ass kicked by you guys on a regular basis (Humboldt State alum here). You guys are always a top squad and truly dominated the conference when I was racing collegiate.
WCCC racing was a super positive, fun experience for me. I really miss those days. At lower levels, you will have an opportunity to ride and party with people who have similar cycling interests as you do. If you decide to take it a little more seriously, then there will be some truly elite riders at the men's A level who should be able to mentor you and help out. When I was in school (2010 grad), you guys used to have Paul Mach on your team - a grad student at Davis who also happened to be a pro cyclist!

At lower levels, you will have an opportunity to ride and party with people who have similar cycling interests as you do. And I have a friend doing biking at Humboldt, but he is doing mountain biking. Seems like MTB is a bigger deal there than road.

Yeah Humboldt's team is skewed towards the mtn side, and that's all it was in the beginning. With the weed culture and hilly redwoods right next to campus, it sort of makes sense. That's another thing I missed: anytime you eat **** mtb'ing in the forest, you either land on a fern or a bunch of redwood duff - guarenteed soft landing.

Today I had to buy a tool for $400 that the shop should be paying for but won't, sliced my finger to the bone and then broke a fog light on a Mercedes, but then I got off work and rode my bike around and I feel better. ****ty picture cause I didn't want to ruin that Strava time slowing down but I love this time of year.
