My trainer rarely sees any action for reasons mentioned above not to mention that sunny SD weather all year long.
Makes me question why I bought that pair of fix it special cinelli rollers in the closet awhile back.

...rode to work for the first time since my wreck 2-1/2 weeks ago. I took it easy, kept my hands on the handlebars and didn't go fast. But dang, my knee hurts now! Maybe a little too soon.

I bought a cheap $100 trainer at Dick's which I've actually used the last couple of days because it's been cold in Phoenix and I haven't been getting in my commuting miles.
It's amazing how much more I sweat on that thing than riding outside. I'm sure it's probably the same but I don't notice it outside.
It's absolutely horrible, I just set the retention up all the way so it feels like I'm pedaling through 6" of mud going uphill.

Did that last night, it helped immensely - I also put a towel over the top of the bike and had a hand towel near by to wipe my hands/head.

I had to buy a rug for the rollers to go on because I sweat like a pig. Opened the windows when it's 40 degrees out and put the fan on, still drenched. Now I just do it in just boxers + fan and watch an episode of Archer usually.
Crashed my bike in the snow today, was a good time and got up laughing.

-40C with the windchill here.
Today I went for a 3D bone scan to get a good picture of my spine from my head to my toes... also got some x-rays so suppose I probably glow in the dark now.
My new neurologist is the best there is and he is no friend to insurance companies that like to tell you "It's all in your head" when he is sure there are some serious issues at my S1/L5 which is something we knew as all the issues I have point to that.
Yesterdays beat down (exam) and adventures in radio imaging left me feeling even more beat up than usual... when the painkillers kick I tend to get a little hyper before the coma sets in.

The weather here is nuts. Just last Wednesday it was 80 degrees and I was riding in shorts and a t-shirt.

Club road ride today...current temp in the valley of the sun, 32*F, with an expected high of 57.
I don't want to go outside.
We turned the heat on in the house last night.

Today I spent the evening at an orphanage. Ate some food, decorated cookies, played games, and watched the orphans get presents from Santa and watch them open their gifts. They were all "from Santa" but I recognized the names that I got gifts for, it was nice to see their face light up and smile. #themgoodfeels

trainers suck so hard man. i spent 1 winter a few years back using one quite regularly for training due to issues and wore myself out mentally for using them at all.
time passes so slow... a 20' interval all out is painful enough, but the time just drags on so slowly on the trainer... agony

Today I bought another bike, all from the comfort of my home in my bathrobe. It's a cold icy wonderland outside today, so I've just been passing my time surfing the internet, and just came across this crazy deal at bd for a Windsor Clockwork for just $169.95. A few mouse clicks and the deal is done.
