Decided to drop in on the Fiesta Island "Worlds" ride, despite being tired and having a rainy forecast. I was tired and groggy all day from training hard (3rd "on" week), having to get up early for work, and having a few to drink with the lady last night. But when I got out there I just felt super good on the bike, funny how that happens some times.
By the numbers:
27.2 mph for the 53 min duration, small field of 15 or 16 that split in half about 35 min in. I made the front. 282w avg, NP a fair bit higher (haven't checked).
By feel:
Like I said, just awesome. I reckon I did more work on the front than all but 2 riders, one of whom is a local cat 1 superstar on KHS-Maxxis p/b Jakroo, David Santos. He gave me a high 5 after the last lap and asked me what my name was, so I figure that means I had a good ride too
.
I got rained on during the ~25 minute spin back home, but it was totally worth it, just grinning the whole time and feeling great.

People are great! But, some people either suck or are going through tough times and making those around them suffer with them.
See the positives in people and you will see more positive people.
Just a hint though.... The Internet brings out the stupid and ugly side of many people who otherwise might be good people.

I have a Metropolis and a Yalta backpack. I can fit more in the Yalta I think. I still love the Metropolis more however, as it is more comfortable, is easier to get on and off, and just fits better. I have not transported a frame with either bag yet. I did attach a track wheelset to the Yalta with bungees and it never moved. Not sure that I could have done that with a messenger style bag.
Arghhh, I hate some of you guys. Now I am on the Mission Workshop site looking at bags. Damnit. That Shed is intriguing. Wondering how it compares to a Metropolis aside from the fact that it can be roll top or conventional messenger.

9 hours left to grow a pair and register for my first race. Judging by the weather it's most likely going to be in mid to low 30's for temps during that time. That's not helping me want to do it.

That is what I am replacing. This bag I use was so uncomfortable that I literally made a thin pillow to shove between the liner and the outer layer. And the strap ratchet has never worked properly and now it is rusting. I got it during a half-price sale, so I have never been mad about it, though I cannot wait to get a replacement.
I've wanted a Mission Workshop bag... Though the price keeps me away. That is an enviable choice.

Bahahahaha. I got my bag in a day, and I love it so far. I don't like backpacks for the same reason you mentioned.
