Today some kid brought a bike into the shop that did not have a headset or bottom bracket cups, just a spindle. Only one axle nut one each wheel. Vertical dropouts. 1/8 inch cog, 10 speed chain.

We wouldn't let him ride out of the shop on it.

Today I got the wheel I needed to finish rebuilding my FG. Except it has the wrong size rim. gg Velomine (you suck).

Which was definitely the right thing to do.

Today I found the bike I am going to replace the kilo with 1989 schwinn peloton, red white and blue 'Merica style

Today I sat around at home waiting for someone to respond about buying my Xbox but never heard from them. I did get an offer for my Sugino Messengers though they told me they won't have the cash until around the 7th next month. Besides that the best part about my day was buying beer. Maybe I'll throw on a movie tonight if nothing else keeps me entertained.

Sometimes, I wish I had a phone with a camera. This was one of the times. I may just start bringing my actual camera.

OH, didn't have a seatpost binder bolt either. Just a seatpost jammed in there, obviously the wrong size.

Dannihilator 05-30-13 08:43 PM

Man, that would have won the jackass thread.

Wow, that's some stupid ****. I wouldn't imagine he could physically ride that bike out of the shop, objections not withstanding.

SpeshulEd 05-30-13 09:16 PM

Today I'm giving up cycling in favor of prancercise...I'll see you guys over on prancer forums!

Nah, I'm taking up counter cross-stitch. Not Really

DanBell 05-30-13 09:27 PM

Today I had my first fixed ride in about two weeks. My new 710SL chain is buttery smooth. Very nice.

Well he rode it in... Lol

It might have been a dick move, but for his own good, the owner pulled his crank and told him to come back tomorrow.

Seems like a bad week for them. My brother just got a rear wheel delivered today but it was a red Weinmann DP rim instead of a black and silver LP like he ordered. Which, if it weren't so gaudy probably wouldn't even be worth saying anything, but c'mon, man.

I deal with a lot of homeless people where I work and this makes their bikes seem fair and sensible.

bro 05-31-13 12:30 AM

yeah that nishiki is one of my favorite bikes on here.

Right on.

You gotta love the fact that although people may mock her, she is a pretty fit and feisty 61 year old in a country where obesity is an epidemic.

Tonight on my ride I passed by the park where a couple of dudes were leading a boot camp session that was attended by a group of women... figured that if I was in this group and the guy was talking to me the way he was talking to these ladies, I'd get my workout by smacking the smirk off his face.

I don't know why this is such a popular exercise program when mine is so much more enjoyable.

It's called... lets go ride bikes.

That is a Japanese Giant Hornet... a world class killer of honeybees.

That being said... I hate wasps and hornets of any kind.

I don't mean to mock her and I agree totally, she is looking good for her age....but this is probably one of the funniest things I've seen on the internet before. I love her and want her to be my mom (well, mom #2).

unless we have something that looks exactly like that and lives in trees and is a small (read: GIANT) yellow terrorist, pretty sure we had those. my mom wouldnt let us go out into the yard for the rest of the summer once she saw one.

i used to secretly go out there with a can of brake cleaner and a zippo and stick the end into their little burrows and torch the bastards, never seemed to kill them off though till we got the stump removed completely
