**** made me laugh. We can all go back to recommending the kilo tt again now that we know they won't completely fall apart. That was a scary false alarm.

Today I received the last part for my Steamroller build, brake lever (cane creek 200TT). I now have it completed and ready to ride in the morning. The brake lever was quite a adventure. I originally bought a pair on Ebay. I got a shipping notice after a couple of days, but it was never received by USPS, only the payment notice. After 2 weeks ( I went on vacation and didn't know if it had be delivered), I contacted the seller (on a Sunday). He replied in about an hour, said USPS confirmed the package was lost and he issued a refund. Very glad I got the refund, but imagine USPS confirming anything in less than an hour and on a Sunday! I then ordered from another mail order house. I placed order, then 2 days later was contacted that they were out of stock and cancelling the order. Finally ordered from Amazon, paid for fast shipping. It took a little over a week, but they came in today. I only have a front brake, so I'm only using one of them.

Today I reached my wits end with windows 8.
Deleted my last win8 boot partition. It had its chance. Not a keeper.
It seems to me, every install I do sooner or later ends up having permissions problems eventually or another that's irreparable and requires a fresh install from scratch.
I want the money I paid back.

Hmmm sold thru HD too.
I'm not too trusting of chinese aftermarket parts though. Why compromise a manufacturer's derailleur design to save a less than a handful of grams? They for sure put a whole lot more engineering R&D in their products than their chinese counterparts.

it was a hand me down from a really good friend ive known since childhood, its had allot of abuse aka workload over the years, its had formats, fresh windows installs ect. its really on its last legs and i was drinking that night but i do like to joke about percussive maintenance when it comes to fixing things
yes when this laptop dies i will purchase another. I had a refurbished HP l2000 prior to this but someone let it fall down a flight of stairs a few years ago... Loved that lap top. It cant handle more than a few tabs with chrome or running an actual program with any background apps running. Its a tired old horse that needs to be taken out and shot but ill just run it till it gets to the point that i cant do basic things such as internet browsing with atleast one or two tabs.
it wasnt a bad laptop before, pentium 4, nvidia graphics, harmon kardon sound. no hdmi out/in though lol old hp pavilion zd7000

Today I rode to the Farmer's Market with my wife.
But first, I stopped to get some cash:

And then I found a guy selling amazing ribs and picked up a half slab:

But I realized I didn't have a knife so... Benchmade:

All in all, I'd say I had an awesome day (and all before noon).

Good news is the shakedown ride was perfect. I was on some trails that were a bit too much for a cross bike but I still managed to get props from some mtbers. Obligatory lake trillium shot.
