That video is rad. But nuts! I would be so dead by now.

Anyway, today I'm glad that I take my time to lock up my bike as best as I can. Felt bad for whoever this happened to though.

that sucks. I wonder if any part of their bike was locked by the U-Lock or if it was just locking the cable.

You gotta use two locks and a cable to keep it safe. Like this.

My Kona Unit weighed in at 28lbs. This bike needs a weight weenie overhaul.

Knowing the area that was locked up in, it was likely a thiefs own bike.

That would explain the anti-theft-foo that was so expertly deployed.

Today I got new wheels. Today I also found out that those new wheels had a cracked rim.

Playback is at at least 3x real time, NOT what messengering is like. A child on a trike would look like a bat out of hell played at that speed.

of course it is what messengering is like, thats exactly what hes doing.

I played the vid back at 25% speed, that's about right and what "messengering" is really like.
The vid @ 4x is BS, get a clue.

Sure you could, slow it down to 1/4 the speed, that's real world without the "shock & awe" special effects

no **** sherlock! sorry you cant wrap your head around the fact that the playback speed of the vid has nothing do do with whats actually taking place. noone watching this video except you thinks hes actually going 40 mph inbetween cars.

You really aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer but that's ok. My posts were made for the benefit of these guys, not some jackass who can't follow comments made on a thread.

You guys would be surprised how easy it is to ride in NYC traffic if you're an experienced rider. Traffic is SLOW, a lot less rigid rules lets you dominate the road and really take things into your own hands anywhere on the road. I felt like a fool for not taking some of the red lights when there was an opening. Then it all falls back to normal in the less congested area. I thought it was a lot of fun riding there and I felt a lot safer.

I felt the same way riding in Chicago to be honest, much safer even with the increased traffic vs. where I live. I dislike time lapse videos because it takes away from the video, and does not enhance it to me. I would rather see things in real life speed.

Exactly, that vid is misleading as hell. If you want a city challenge try San Francisco. With the hills, fog and trolley tracks you have to be on your toes there.

Neither are you. Neither of the people you "benefitted" said anything about the speed of the video. It's pretty obvious it's a time lapse video.

Also, today I'm going to see the likes of Indecision, Grade, None More Black, Kill Your Idols, etc. So psyched.
