it took me 3 months to justify my purchase of raw denim, and those were only $50 (employee discount), i could never see myself spending the full $100+ on a pair of jeans, and certainly not 60 times.
i own like 5 pairs of jeans and a few pairs of khakis, i dont even know if i have 60 articles of clothing
then again ive spend thousands on bicycle **** and furniture, different strokes

$6,0000 worth of jeans??? Are you ****ing kidding me??? No wonder yer not married anymore(sorry, bad joke?).. Just curious, what kind of jeans were these? It seems to me that most denim, regardless of the brand, or price is Chinese sweatshop made, so I can't even fathom dropping that much $ on anything like that. I WILL buy a pair of good, broken in, USA made Levi's if I find them in a thrift store. It's hard for me to justify buying something, based on the brand, if the brand is just another brand made in a low wage paying country.

I will just say this. She had twice as many as I did. And no, that is not the reason we are not married any more. At the time, it is what we wanted to do, and we could afford it, so we did. It isn't something that I am proud of, rather embarrassed but it is what it is, and the whole thing is done.

One of my back-burner projects (since bikes consume all of my hobby time now) has been to build a Dynaco ST-70 (EL34's) clone. It was such a popular amp back in the day, that there is a healthy community of hobbyists to discuss parts substitutions, and several clone kits are produced now.

Did you buy them in person, or online? Be careful buying them online. You will almost always get Chinese made ones. They are not "bootleg" either. They are "real" Raybans, but made in China. And still cost the same.
Scott: Yeah man, they sound great, and I have a tone of EL34's and 12AX7s lying around from my guitar /bass amps.....Pretty handy.

I don't know, there's a good amount of cork sniffing, elbow patch wearing, pretention in that crowd, just like any.
The Luxman I just picked up is very similar to some Marantz/Mcintosh stuff...

And the best part about old gear is there's plenty of it left around. Go to your local flea market every weekend and you'll hit jackpot eventually.

Lol I'm using a pair of Superlux 668B. Didn't like the pads that came with it, and put velour pads on that nearly doubled what they were worth haha

I've had a pair of both and the Asian made ones were garbage. I'm sure there are slave like conditions everywhere. Asia happens to be pretty well known for it though.
