Today I received my new saddle, which I find to be comfortable.

Today I'm getting the urge to single-speed my Shogun and class it up with some shiny silver things.

Yeah, I crushed a bag of snack sized Kit Kats. I have to buy a replacement.

Gonna build some wheels for myself tonight.

They came out well. Pretty light too at 1480g.

KinLin XR19Ws to Circus Monkeys with sapim races. Pasela PTs for rubber.

I wouldn't call it new. Took it into work on my day off today to do everything I can't at home. Which is essentially just installing the headset. Had to add about 4 inches of threads to the fork before chopping. Came out so well.

I saved a classic pair of pedals from being tossed out.

Those are nice pedals; I have a couple pairs here. Looks like someone hammered down the tabs, though.

So, today I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new refrigerator at Home depot to replace my 20+ y/o Amana that is still working, but is getting really loud and making all kinds of nasty hissing, cracking and popping sounds. It also runs a lot uses a lot of power. I really hate replacing it, because it's built like a tank and is a lot more sturdy that modern refrigerators. This year has been costly for my home maintenance, and the new fridge takes me past the $10K mark, but at least it should be a lot less for the next 10 years.

Today my new refrigerator arrived and the delivery guys were speaking Spanish, so I struck up a conversation with one of them. He was fascinated with my bikes, and asked if he could lift up my Pista Concept, upon which he screamed "que liviana," which is Spanish for "so light" . Turns out he's from Medellin, Colombia (not all latinos are Mexican), and his dad used to race road bikes there. I showed him some old photos of me racing wearing a hairnet helmet, and he said I looked just like his dad. He had to get going to make other deliveries, so we exchanged phone numbers so we can keep in touch. If he shows any genuine interest in riding fg, I'll give him my Vilano, which is too big for me, but will fit him perfectly.

That's pretty cool man! Do you have a site with pics of all your bikes? PedalRoom maybe? I'd like to see them all

No PedalRoom, but I've posted a lot of them on this forum at some time or other. Thanks for the props.

Saw some Michelin mud2s in a bargain bin at the lbs, got a set for 66bucks. Hopefully they are grippier than the spesh tires I had on there.

Got some socks for my birthday and stoked about it. True oldman now.

TMonk 10-25-14 09:21 PM

I just sliced a huge flap of skin out of my right middle finger. I had been putting a lot of pressure on some dry Parmesan using my dull cheese grater and slipped.

So much blood for a few min lol; it was disgusting.

Hahaha nice.

In all honesty, I use cycling caps below 55F or so, which means I frequent one during my morning training rides often between Nov and March or so.

Go to revolver bikes on interstate and Rosa parks, they had another 3-4 tires on the basket. I'll see you out there, I'll be the guy on the blue traitor racing ss with the cycling cap.

Also, TMonk caps are great if you have long hair and don't want to deal with it in your face.

Muffin Man 10-26-14 12:01 PM

Swap meets are awesome/awful. Got another caad10 frame and sram s900 cranks for cheap. Goddamn.

Today ( the other day really ) I saw a dude in a business suit hopping curbs on a folding bike, he looked like he was having a blast. Now I really want one, just like the CX, and tourer, I don't own...
