Today my parents are in town from Houston and I'm throwing a big BBQ for all my friends and the weather is perfect and other than my folks being a little bored all is well.

(They're retired, so sitting around relaxing all day isn't as great for them as it is for us working schmucks, heh.) People will start getting here in a couple hours though, so no big.

Got the nishiki settled. Chased the BB threads, installed a new bottom bracket, new crankset, new pedals, and straps.

Turned out well.

Today I got caught in varying degrees of rain pretty much the whole 9-mile commute home, from slight drizzle to sheets of big fat drops. It was annoying at first but warm enough that it felt awesome in the end.

Played basketball today, felt really good and I did a lot better than I expected. Jumper needs more work, but I didn't expect it to fall a lot because I haven't played in almost a year.

Today I started working with a utility bike frame builder. I'm going to help with some assembly, and packaging, but mostly building wheels them. It's going to be cool since he will teach me how to weld and braze. I can only hang out at the shop one day a week though :-/

Went on a day date. Was pretty good.

Was pleasantly surprised when I arrived home to see my Langster Pro and Omnoms had been delivered. Put it all together. Got the flat black finish all smudged up with my greasy hands.

Wheeeeeee!

Now I just need to buy the rest of the parts to finish it off.

Today I found this forum after I fired up the ol' El Camino and went for a ride with my brother on my recently repaired fixed gear. I lost both top mounts for my rack on the ride so it fell backward and did a number on the new tire but otherwise was a good ride. Somehow that old peeling seat off of my brother's bike is really comfortable!

this weekend was rad, i:

survived another year of life
went to cape cod with gf and pals
saw a million bikes (most of which were crap, some cool, like all city space horse and titanium serotta)
saw an equal amount of sweet ass classic cars and hotrods
ate a metric ****ton of great food and almost every meal had creatures from the ocean in it
didnt deal with a single ******bag the entire time excluding people on the interstate on the way there/back
generally enjoyed the **** out of life

tomorrow i receive presents and buy myself something cool

Bikes: thats none of your information BF

Had a blowout at darn near the mid way point of a 33 mile ride yesterday, with no tubes and patches on me. Too many sweet skidzz for those old tires :/

Also saw Man of Steel. S/o to ******bag cop from Premium Rush starring as the villain, and also S/o to Clark Kents dope SS with Brooks swift saddle.

Today I played bikes with my friends bike. We stripped the yellow paint off his motobecane track, sanded it, and just put clear over it, came out pretty good I think.

Also did one of the scariest things ever, had to play tooth fairy (usually the wifes job). The amount of anxiety, from the time you pull that tooth out to the time you replace it with money, is ridiculous. She had the smallest pillow, with both arms wrapped around it, ugh! haha

Saw it yesterday too and couldn't stop thinking of the Premium Rush bad guy.

This made me chuckle. Never thought about it from the parental side before.

Today I had a Panamanian chorizo soup, butter chicken, and a Nutella/chocolate covered almond doughnut. Food festival right outside my building. Fantastic.

I'm a bit jelly, I think, I am Panamanian and I've never had that soup. What did it look like?
