Today I (v2):

Pacific Northwest passive aggression is by far the worst I've ever encountered, was riding home from work and there is a small hill that is a massive bottleneck when coming home(about a 20 person line pile up going ~10 mph). I just turned out into the car lane and just went the speed of traffic past everyone and then got to the red light up ahead and a lady behind me just says real loud "It's nice to say On your left when passing, ya know". Sorry, I'm not gonna say On your left twenty different times.

no cutting!
today i did laundry for like 4 hours, then aimlessly rode around for 34 miles, not trying to go fast or go anywhere in particular, just trying to enjoy the nice afternoon and it was pretty sweet.
32c tires rock my world and now i want them on every bike. am i an old man now?

had what felt like a positive job interview. but don't know who/how many they saw.
my Surly 1x1 would be done except for the fact that, even with all the crap in my garage, i have no extra headset spacers (nor do the three LBS's) and i had to order some.
by next weekend i should be ready for some wilderness exploration.

I was not pleased about this either and kind of wish I would have bought my iphone5 outright to avoid losing the data plan. However, with our family plan we share 10gb of data for less than the old plan and have never came close to using it other than a few times on vacation when I used it to tether my laptop.

Nope, there was a lawsuit and verizon has to do tethering for free now:

With the iphone5, I just go to settings > personal hotspot > flip the switch on.
I got around the verizon crap in the past with a jailbroken iphone4 running the mywi cydia app.

Another nice, sunny commute, and a pizza party at work. Feels good to be getting some consistent miles in, rather than being a dumpy doof who works from home every day.

everybody freaks out about this but in reality the average user ends up saving like $10-20 a month because they dont use 100 gb of data a month on their cellphone
today i have new student orientation at job #2. there is a new system of registering for classes and viewing grades and just about everything and its probably the worst system ever designed.
since im transferring to a new school next semester i havent learned it or been using it and they expect me teach 60 kids how to use it. looks like it will be a learning experience for everyone today.

Irony would have it, the fateful day when you're stuck somewhere w/o wifi & bored and decide to play/ stream videos and all of a sudden your $10 - $20 savings turns bottom up when you automatically accrue another data allocation ala carte because you used up your data.

My company phone is with Sprint and we get unlimited data. For an extra $40, i can get one month of unlimited data while I am traveling. Many hotels in Europe charge €15 per day for internet, so it is much cheaper to go that route. I generally tether my laptop too.
An other trick I use is buying a prepaid sim card and putting in a cheapie "unlocked" phone. That way you can make local calls (and for having locals call you) without incurring roaming charges. On many of these prepay phones, it is cheaper to call back to the US than it is paying for roaming on my US phone.
Of course this is for business and therefore is not out of my pocket. When I travel on my own dime, I use the free wifi wherever I can and keep calls to a minimum.

still looking in the npark/univ heights/normal heights area?
if so its tough to get real estate there and there arleady is brooklyn bikes and adams ave.... fortunately for you however the market is huge (esp in that area) so you shouldnt have much of a problem attracting business. from what i can tell on your website retrogression seems to be a nice intermediate between those two aforementioned businesses. i look forward to visiting ur shop.

Today when I woke up, I tried to drink from a glass of water while still laying down. Naturally this resulted in me pouring a glass of water onto my face, saying "**** it," and going directly back to sleep.

I actually just got an e-mail back from a real estate broker who has bought stuff from the site a few times so I may have a pretty solid "in".
