The nexus line is probably the easiest to root and modify in terms of phones. Google gives you all the tools to do it, and the XDA forums have a really helpful sticky on how to root, and how not to eff it up.

I really liked the Cataclysm ROM, which ran 5.1.1, when I still had the phone. Stable, lots of customization, and had pretty decent SOT for a Nexus 5.

Congrats on both. I love old Paramounts!

I was hanging out with a friend who apparently broke a Paramount road bike, a Battaglin and a custom made John Holland, and I nearly had a heart attack. I don't really want many Schwinn bikes but a Paramount is on the list as is a full custom bike and John Holland is a great builder who I would happily own a frame from.

I used to do this a few years ago with my OG Droid, I miss that phone. What ROM are you using?

CleanROM from ScottsROMS. So far it is good, really good now that I downloaded and installed Gravity Box to "help" it along in the visual sense.

Me and the girl are talking about moving down to Bend, OR. I'm excited because then I can own a MTB and a fat bike without having to justify it.

I hear Bend is way more crunchy than Portland. Better start investing in crystals.

Today I made arrangements to DJ on the local radio station. Sweet!

I'll take hippies any day over all these yuppies that are invading Portland.

Hot damn! Sansin hubs too!
It's sure been a long time coming since you first started looking for "the one". :thumb:

Explain what crunchy means please? Spent the better part of my life in Bend and I love it there. Not much of a job industry other than service/tourisim but its been growing like mad for the last few years for sure.

Previous to this, I only found you mildly annoying. Now, I REALLY hate you.

Great bike!

I think meth is a problem there. That's what I heard when I was living in Newberg. Newberg sucked ass though. So boring.

"Crunchy" = crunchy granola = hippies. "Crystals" = New Age crystal power BS. :thumb:

Jealous as hell. I did my SR series last year and was planning, but things got complicated.

Be sure to give us a full report, s'il vous plait.

Oh my........... A Paramount. A '73 Paramount. What are you going to do with it? Ride as is, or restore?

hairnet 06-15-15 10:17 AM

I'm no purist looking to restore. It is spec'd really well with top parts so it will be ridden and enjoyed.

Does that one have Campy drop outs/ends or Waterford?

Will do! I couldn't get any brevets in last year, so I didn't get to pre-register this year. It seems to have worked out anyway, though.

hairnet 06-15-15 10:46 AM

Yup, Campy dropouts. Campy headset, Suntour Superbe Pro seat post, Sugino Mighty crank, Sansin hubs, Mavic Rims. And the Phil hubs were $60 for the pair  I didn't even intend on buying those.

I'm jealous of you PBP guys. One of these years I will have to get there too. I need more experience than a couple 360k Fleches.

jlafitte 06-15-15 11:01 AM

Randonneuring requires a certain level of insanity.
