seems like it does a lot more than the ass saver fender, need something for the front and were in business

I've been using a Musguard for a couple years - far superior to ass-saver & most other "removable" fenders

Heard they recently came up with one for the front too...

All good, except an ass saver can fit in my bag until needed

The Musguard is designed to roll up on the top tube (or elsewhere I guess). That seems convenient enough.

A rolled up Musguard is way easier to carry than an ass saver - will fit in a large pocket...

Nice!

Except that the ass saver takes up basically zero space in the bag, and takes like three seconds to put on or remove.

Mumonkan 04-13-15 09:04 AM

you can fold the ass saver and tuck the whole thing under the seat which is nice

@IAmSam is the musguard worth $30?

I was messing around in my garage and found this little pouch for my laser level while changing a tube on my wife's bike and noticed they are the same size. Perfect for preventing punctures while storing a tube for long periods of time in a saddle bag. It fits a 23-25 tube like it was made for it.

Looks so custom.

Same.

Also made my car look cool.
Went on a bike ride with a hot tinder chick before work. Things are getting pretty serious.

franswa 04-13-15 02:59 PM

Today I was asked by the clothing retailer, American Eagle Outfitters, if they could loan my Fuji for the next four days for a photo shoot. They offered me $100 for the four days. Laughable. Suck it, AEO!

Mumonkan 04-13-15 03:34 PM

IAmSam do you use the mudguard with a rear brake?

Mounted on the seatpost.

Muffin Man 04-13-15 11:20 PM

I don't remember how to build wheels. I'm scared.

Also GTA V for pc released today

johnnytheboy 04-14-15 12:01 AM

find the logo on the hub. make it sure faces your direction when you're mounted on the bike. starting 3 holes over from the center of the logo, drop a spoke in that hole. now, find the valve hole on the rim. make sure the rim logo is readable from the drive side of the bicycle. place the spoke into the hole to the immediate left of the valve hole. attach a nipple to the spoke leaving a few threads on the spoke exposed. working toward the left, skip a hole on the hub and drop a spoke into that hole on the flange. now, skipping 3 holes in the rim (to the left of the first spoke you placed in) feed that spoke into the hole and attach a nipple. continue that process until that side of the flange is complete. once you complete that side, pick any spoke you've already laced...yadda yadda yadda if you need anymore help pm me. beers are great right now.

johnnytheboy 04-14-15 12:02 AM

oh, and that's the start of a 2x 3x and 4x wheel. not a radial, obviously.

I don't think it would work very well on seatpost - has a crease down the center for stiffness but is pretty long so still kind of flexible. Running it thru seatstay/bridge triangle keeps it "folded" along the crease to make it rigid. As much as I like my Musguard, this may be its one drawback...
