I highly doubt it -- Let the pad to the work and don't apply a ton of pressure and you'll be good:thumb:

Hmm.. I think a round file might be your best bet to do the roughing followed by a flexible disk dealio? The scotch pad is probably only really good at removing paint/surface crap not really meant for sculpting metal.
Are you having a frame painted? Using a little bit of bondo might work really well to get things looking really smooth. I dunno about powerder coating though.

I'm actually looking for something that would. Something flexible, and not too aggressive, but something to smooth off ugly welds and slag. :)

Gotcha. Yea I'd just use a file or something and get it as smooth as you can -- The PC should cover minor flaws with ease.

Double post but saw you want it to clean up some welds, depending on how bad it is they should do be fine for that. We use the black ones at work to smooth over our MIG plug welds before paint.

If you really attack it, it will grind some metal off. Those black ones can also eat into brass so be careful around brazed areas.

Went to the theater and saw It Follows.
Awesome original soundtrack, very creepy/beautiful atmosphere, and no cheap scares for once. Loved it. |
Bought the aforementioned Windsor today rides like a dream

Today I spent $30 on stickers. #noragrets

Learned Gogle Maps makes Cue sheets
I wanted to take a ride ro my favorite ice cream shop O Wow Cow OwowCow in Ottsville. I decided to see how far it was and used Google maps. I clicked on directions, entered my home address then got the car route. I then clicked on the bicycle icon and got the bike friendly route. Google has improved this feature and it seems to pick well. I then took the step by step directions and copied and pasted them into Excel. Bada-bing-bada-boom, instant cue sheet. With a tiny amount of formatting it was perfect for the ride. It even routed me on a paved bike path that I did not know existed. The bike rout feature will also give you a terrain profile to let you know what you are in for.

Today I realized that tire sizing is totally ****ed up. I just got a pair of Conti Super Sport Plus 700x28c tires from RG to replace the cheap Kendas on my Motobecane Messenger, and when I mounted and inflated them fully then measured their width they were barely over 25mm and only about 1mm wider than the Kendas, which are labelled 700x25c. Also, expensive Contis like the Grand Prix 4000s are made in Germany, but cheap ones like these are made in India. They were a total ***** to mount, even with a tire jack.

Today I took my first fixed gear ride. 30km of various flat with few hills with just north of 70 GI's on my bike.
On the last few kilometers I realised what pain felt like with no option to coast  Man I was toast. I am in no shape... But wow what a fun and enjoyable trip none-the-less. Country roads, heavy city traffic and light city riding - no problems, no clipstands, no flying through intersections. What a joy! I think I'm hooked on FG! |

Got my first ride in for the season. 20 windy miles. Legs are shot from that and the gym last night.

^^ +1
Today I got passed by a yellow/orange McLaren coupe. Caught up to him at the stoplight, went nose to nose for about three seconds. Gotta say the engine in that thing made a sound you don't forget. |

He he he. Cheap junk eh? I don't like/drink wine or beer so I don't have a clue. I used those boxes to transport groceries from the store to my car. Something about rotten fruit and grains just turns me off. :)
But it should be said, beer and wine making are historical methods of making stuff safe to drink. Couple thousand years ago, the average Roman or Egyptian was better off drinking wine or beer than taking their chances on the straight up water supply. Keep that in mind for when the Great Collapse comes along. |
