Yeah, for me it is a lot harder to do with the "new" stainless steel cable, so most of the time I don't do it anymore. It just takes more prep work and cleaning the cable with acid helps.

That's so much work when I could just use a crimp lol. It seemed like the Teflon antistick coating just she'd anything what went on the cable.

I haven't soldered a cable in about 15 years, though. Was doing heat shrink tubing for a little while.

Just doing nail polish nowadays. The little lady has a huge collection of colors.

Riding from my house over to an island, and found a huge piece of glass that made itself known as I was heading down a long hill in Seattle. Torn a good sized hole in the tire, so I will be stopping at a bike shop when I get off of the ferry.

If the rim is welded, grinding away excess metal may have left a slight hollow. If the rim is pinned, the ends may not line up perfectly. You may need to relax your truing standards slightly at the seam, average the vertical truing for the two sides, or guide by eye on the underside of the rim."

Road back from the island, the new tires are great. But, it sucks to be riding uphill into a wind. It is just wrong!

Adjusted brakes and took off the rear. Whoever set them wasn't bright, rears were digging into the tire and fronts were halfway onto the V.. now to figure out the creaky crank.

That's how I roll too. I usually just wait until the wheel is true and tensioned, then stick the spoke wrench in my beard and let the beard check for hops and finish the job.

Climbed the local mtn pass and saw a strong roadie approach as I crested the summit. I put in a really strong effort the last couple miles so I said "I guess you were catching up to me the last bit there, huh?" and all he said was "mehhh..." and turned around to descend. ******. I also skinny dipped in a small snow-melt pool that was still freezing ****ing cold and then salvaged a boat helm (steering wheel) from the dump on the way home. The funniest part about climbing the pass is that you have to bring your passport since you pass through US customs on the way back into town.

Today I mailed my passport renewal, and it's rather depressing to see how much older I look in my new passport photo as compared to my previous one. I used to look younger than my age, but now I think I look just as old if not older. Well, at least no one asks me for my ID now when I request a senior citizen discount on something. I hate looking in the mirror and seeing a haggard old man staring back at me. :(

The Salt and pepper look is in right now. Maybe grow a beard and sport a man bun?

Already got a beard and it's white, so I'd have to dye it, which I'm definitely not going to do. I'm not a man bun type, just like I don't carry a man purse.

Nothing immediate. Just like having a valid passport for whenever I want to go somewhere outside the USA. My current passport was about to expire in a couple of weeks. I think my next trip will be to Cuba, which is where my pops came from, and where I still have some distant relatives.

Judging by the way most roadies respond to a hello, they must be autistic or something.

i always wanted to go to cuba, cool colorful architecture and old cars is my jam. i hope now that travel restrictions and such are being relaxed that it doesnt launchpad into everyone and their abuelita owning a nissan altima. i need to go there before that happens
