^^^ I like the way they put water bottle cage bosses on it, so it's actually practical for extensive riding on the road. You hardly ever see that done on aluminum frames.

Agreed, especially with more and more people riding track frames on the road.

Heck, I've not even ridden on the track for nearly two years now. That's why I changed out the stock fork on my Bianchi Pista Concept with a Super Pista fork so I could mount a front brake and strapped on a water bottle cage.

Today I'm in school for 11 hours. I want to go home :'-(

Wythnail 04-23-15 05:16 PM

Today I:

got my ass dumped. so to distract myself I tore apart and rebuilt my old mountain bike and drank beer. Now i have to go to work and Im tipsy.

Mumonkan 04-23-15 06:00 PM

^retail therapy. n+1 time.

today i did more trail investigations omw home from work, few sections still flooded/too damp to really rip through and beyond the limitations of a roadbike with slicks. still awesome though, more research tomorrow morning.

i ****ing love bikes. im so excited for this year of riding, im set on making this the year of radventuring, lots of dirt and new places on my agenda

Wythnail 04-23-15 08:36 PM

Hell yeah mumonkan. I feel the same, haven't been riding too much, been busy opening a bar, but things are settling down and I cant wait to pedal my little legs off

1) I absolutely hate putting fenders on bikes. Back fender on the Rove took me an hour. I'm also really bad at it.

2) I realized the Rove is amazing and that I like it x1000000 times more than the Trek.

3) I realized the Trek probably doesn't fit me. I feel so bent over and aggressive while riding it. Might turn it into a towny w/upright bars and a front rack for the summer, before selling it. I think I could get more than I paid.

I really really like owning it, but riding it is kinda meh. This must be what it's like for Veyron owners.

Today I found this aluminum bolt-on kickstand in the back of my garage under a pile of old bike parts, and got the bright idea to install it on my Salsa Casseroll. I normally like to lean my bikes up against something when I get off them, but sometimes I need to stop for a short time, and there's nothing convenient nearby to lean against. Anyway, the Cassy has very long chainstays, so there's room to mount a kickstand in front of the rear fender. It kind of pained me to gouge the nice paint on the chainstays, but I guess that's the price I have to pay for some added convenience.

Clear helicopter tape. Pretty much invisible, strong, stays put, but temporary too.

On my way into work this morning, I passed a very large man on a TT bike, wearing a skinsuit and aero helmet, swerving all over the road, and going about 12mph.

I hope he wins whatever race he was in or sets a PR or something.

Since it was nice out last weekend, I saw a man on a TT bike with a deep front/rear disc and aero helmet going up and down our waterfront park which is an insanely crowded sidewalk. He was out there multiple days just going back and forth, swerving wildly around people. Freds gonna fred.

Hahaha. Freds gonna fred might be my new favorite saying.

we need a jersey with that on it.

related:
got the heavy pedal kit today, fit is ace for me, went by their size chart which matched my usual size
good quality, i like the chamois. wouldve gotten more than one if i knew. if i was still a stoner id totally rock the one with the nugs all over it

also got those shoes and pedals i won from ebay.

does anyone know if time alium pedals have adjustable release tension? it seems like the only way i can click in is by stomping down on the pedal which is less than ideal

Has there ever been a BFSSFG jersey? Actually just thinking about this the other day, I believe the road sub-forum has in the past.

I own two of those kits...and whenever I wear them, I tend to see cops everywhere. I giggle on the inside.

Not that I know of, I actually got the road one...the baseball style jersey with the big 41 on the back. I thought it looked cool although it was a bit overpriced, from what I recall.

For all SF/Bay Area folks, group ride with LeMond next friday. I'm definitely skipping a physics lecture for this.

Whoa, that sounds fun. I might try to take off work early to come along on my SS MTB. What's funny, I have an Instragram account and might even be following mashsf too, but never remember to actually check / use it. Thanks for the heads up!

Sweet! Very inspiring.

I'm in Alaska now, dudes. This town is freaking tiny but right next to the mountains. I will try to post some decent photos soon.

Little bit of column A, little bit of column B.

They're not that bad off road really, but I wasn't off paved roads for very long

hockeyteeth 04-25-15 09:46 PM

I'll be camping along this trail all summer. Tomorrow I am going to ride another, more challenging trail nearby. It's absolutely gorgeous out here!
