Fixed the a/c on the daily ('97 Avalon) after months of leaving it be. The motors got stuck on the position blowing air on the windshield and legs. Removed the dash under panels and eventually found the rod that moved the flap. Solid two hours of having my medium husky frame folded under the dash.

I really like the one I posted, for the "I cannot believe it is a road bike factor..." The first two of these have very interesting scenery as you have noted. That last one made me nervous just watching it!!!!

Regarding the vid that you posted. It's kinda weird how those guys do all those stunts and the bikes survive, and other people say, "I hit a pothole and bent my rim." I know they are smooth and "Light" on the bikes, but some of those drops were looooong.

Indeed. I also wonder what kind of tire pressure he is running.

I am fascinated by the physics of this. For example, an averaged sized adult can balance on an empty pop can, if they are very careful getting onto it. Yet, a lite tap to the side of the can and it instantly crushes. So, they, the riders in these videos, literally need to land almost perfectly every time. I still have to believe that the road bike will have failures trying to shoot they videos.

And are they running clinchers or tubs!?

Today (yesterday) I removed my 23mm Vittoria slicks and put on 33mm Maxxis Raze's. I barely got to ride them but holy crap, I see myself trying stupid things on the Steamroller in my future.

Also, I rode all of RAGBRAI last week single speed. Not as tough as I thought.

Have a 75 hour work week this week that I'm not stoked on but at least my Vegas trip will be paid for.

Today I realized it had been far too long since my last check-in here.

Yeah as long as you are building a decent quality modern rim the wheels practically build themselves. Also one of my favorite things about wrenching :thumb:

Today, or rather yesterday- i cranked out 30 miles in less than two hours. Pretty happy with that and thinking it could be a good plan to try for that every day, now that i have a challenging loop down.

I have never felt this good about my health or riding in my whole life.

just getting into fixed gear riding (relatively experienced road racer) and really enjoying it. just doing my commutes on it while it's still race season, but have loved every minute of it thus far.

most certainly, i might like it more than putting a whole bike together.
that might just be because i put it so high up on the pedestal of skill tho, ill reevaluate after i have a few wheel builds complete lol

bowzette 07-29-15 02:38 PM

To break YoYo dog out of the vets I have to pay $1,000. It started out as a $425 teeth cleaning and escalated from there:cry:

It is most satisfying. The rest of the bike doesn't take as much skill or patience and in the end the whole bike is resti ng on your wheels.
