Come south by a hour. You won't be disappointed. Tornado watch here until 10pm.

I saw EITS when I still lived in Michigan at a really small bar in Lansing called Mac's Bar. The place holds maybe 150 people, I'd say there were twice that in there that night. The show was amazing. That was back in my taping days - I have audio/video of the show somewhere. I should look for it.

...actually, here's a link to the audio. Wonder if the video is floating around the net?

Last time I saw NIN was during the Fragility Tour, also in Michigan. We got there so early to get up front. We ended up being front row for most of the concert until my friends either got squashed against the front rail or engulfed by the mosh pit. I won't be doing that crap again. I'll just be hanging in the back next to the soundboard - my favorite place to see a show. It's never crowded back there, the sound is perfect, and you can go the bathroom, grab a beer, and still get back to exact same spot in a few minutes.

I hate being that far back at shows. I saw Built to Spill from the back of the venue and felt more like I was watching video of a show than witnessing it firsthand.

Today I discovered rather embarrassingly that 50 lb. rated screw-in drywall anchors do not hold 25 lb. bikes on walls. Had to cut the drywall open to add braces between the studs to mount my racks.

Bikes: good ones.

I'll probably be at the NIN show.

I raced tonight with the B's. First in a 3 lap scratch, third in an unknown distance (7-8) laps, and second in 25 lap points race.

explosions are one of the few bands that ill actually listen to the live recordings, cuz theyre usually better. i like the early performances when they **** up the notes, it puts more feeling into the songs for me cuz many of them are so melancholy

After the 2nd shock it would have been thrown out of the highest point available to me if it was mine.

Mildly on topic, my friend who owns the local card shop is in to cycling I found out today. We've been playing for like 10 years, and I just found out. 45 miles planned for tomorrow. So many matching interests, glad DOMA got turned over, I might have to marry the guy.
Our sqrls are coming too, it's gonna be pretty leisurely.

Explosions and Mogwai are the few bands I love that I'll skip over when they come to town because I get bored at slower paced concerts.

If it's live I want some Converge.

Oof, that is a sucky one. Firing is rarely good times, don't even want to think about friend firings.

I cried like hell hearing explosions in the sky stuff the night my first dog that was wholly my own (not my family's, just mine) died. agreed on the melancholy.

I like melancholy tho.

Today I planned on riding 11 miles to a poker game, killed 8.9 in 29:3- ish on 44x17 (good, for me). Then I stopped at the Kroger to buy beer, stupidly did not bring a bag for it, so I had to hold a 6er steady with my left hand on the bullhorns whilst climbing hills... THEN I messed up the route and ended up riding another 3 miles to get there. argh!
