My drug dealer hands out CX races whenever you buy a nug.

You're just jealous that you live in the uncivilized part of the US.

Had a loose-ball repacking kind of day today.

veganbikes 11-16-15 01:49 AM

Went on a hike for a friends birthday and had delicious Chinese food then scored a vintage 40s era Kenmore sewing machine and a wheel cart with drawers (both for free) and got some of my bike stuff organized. Chains with chains brake stuff with brake stuff, a cable drawer, a friggen cable drawer, no more random boxes of crap they can all get organized.

Now I just need to figure out how to work the dang thing. Apparently I have to thread a bobbin and the top dohickey and the bobbin makes no sense and the instructions seem like they were written for people who have already used one and threaded it.

Today I got 4 hours of sleep. Called the cops on my neighbors barking dog which has made a reappearance. The first bark woke me up, and I was like, no, this isn't possible. It is. Cops just left, and the dog was still barking when they got here so the officer got the full THX HD surround experience. She had removed the dog for I think a week it was, maybe longer. It was so nice sleeping in until 8 or 8:30.

That's a great idea. Holy crap.

It was almost too easy. It just mounted on the cross brace as if it was a handlebar. I did need to use some spacers, but that was it. You will need a bright light. I tried it years ago with a crappy 2-AA battery light and I could not see well enough. I used my Cygolite Explion 250 and it was great.

Ride Safe,

Joe

PS: I did get 31 miles of hills in on Sunday instead of mowing the grass.

I asked someone to show me how to use a sewing machine once. How hard could it be, right?

They were like, "Um, no, I went to a class to learn how to use it."

So yeah, "seem like they were written for people who have already used one" is probably right. Apparently it takes mad sKillZ.

Mumonkan 11-16-15 11:19 AM

my mother told me she had a needle completely impale her thumb through the nail once

that was all the reason i needed to never operate a sewing machine in my life

Unkle Rico 11-16-15 11:36 AM

My mother used to own a monogramming biz back in the day -- the machines she had were crazy big and scary as ****

SpeshulEd 11-16-15 03:14 PM

I bought a sewing machine once...used it to repair one pair of pants. It is now buried in the closet.

sickz 11-16-15 03:49 PM

used to sit at my moms sewing machine table and open every drawer and touch every button. the immense number of moving parts was quite fascinating at age 5, and still is.

she used to swear by the pedal feed

I thought I had figured it out today after reading and re-reading and it turns out I have no friggin' clue.

It's cool though and will make a great conversation piece and one day soon I will figure it out.

I unfortunately did the same though not so bad. The worst part about it was not really being able to clean up my finger well without pain. A younger coworker did it and he had to go to the hospital it was so bad.

But it was a solid learning experience I am much more careful when wiping down my chain and lubing up.

IFPCL 11-16-15 04:19 PM

Yeah I broke my thumb and had to go to the ER where they stuck it with a big needle and picked all the bits of fingernail out of my nail bed. Had a hand brace for about a month. Guh.

Yowch! At least you now have a great story and probably won't do it again for sure.

I love those burgers, the way they toast the the bun, the grilled onions that make think of French onion soup........

Yes, I will be in La Mirada until Thursday.

Why Thank You. I really like this part of the country.

Today, I called the cops again. I will continue to do so every day until the barking issue in the morning is resolved.

Add this to yesterdays what I did today - installed 13t Surly cog on my Carve SL. Rides so good.

Sucks you have to go through that. Just stay positive.

I thought the complex gave her an ultimatum.
