UCSD Triton crit, cat 3 - rolled in at the back of the pack.
Small race with 25 or so riders, and we had a good presence. We only managed a 3rd, but I feel good about my race personally. The race was very fast, at ~28mph for the 45min duration. Our small field featured more than a few seriously strong guys that attacked repeatedly; it only bunched up like two or three times briefly. I ended up with an IF of around ~1.
I took a few flyers off the front to neutralize small breaks or just take the pressure off of our guys in the pack. After one of these near the end, a seriously threatening break (without us) went up the road and the remainder of the race was just strung out, from about 7 to go on. I re-joined near the back and never really moved up as I was trying to recover and it was just lined out. A gap formed in the back of the pack before the last lap, with me and two teammates behind. I turned around and asked if they wanted a pull back up and it took everything I had just to get them back, so I rolled in behind the sprint.
Up front we had some serious presence chasing the aforementioned break down, and setting up Mason for the sprint.

Bikes: Not As Many As I'd Like
Today I was headed home a little before dusk, had forgotten my bike lights so I was in a bit of a rush to get off the road, and got pulled over running a stop sign. $140 ticket.
Can't win them all.

Thats ****ed. Sorry mang.
Today, I am officially over winter. We got a foot of snow last Wednesday. It is all gone, melted from the near 60°F and sunny Sunday we had. Tonight and into tomorrow? Another 3-6" of snow forecasted. So. Sick. Of. It!!!!

Windows are open here in Georgia. The daffodils are coming up and Red Bud trees are in bloom.
Seriously, the sun is brutal in the south and sunscreen will be needed soon.

Riding in the snow and cold is fun, but the salt it killer. I switch to a beater mountain bike in the winter because I don't want to subject my rides to the evil salt, and I don't have a garage or any convenient place to wash them.

Today I scored a bunch of huge palm trees my neighbor was getting rid of to make room for a new deck. I wasn't planning on spending my day off digging gigantic holes in my back yard and planting trees, but I suppose that's what's on the agenda now.
Score. Palm trees are expensive af.

Did a 5x5' VO2 max workout this morning at Fiesta Island. Typically I would aim for ~112% (320w atm), but I was feeling ambitious so I did "Tmonk's progressive VO2 max challenge"
1: 315w
2: 320w
3: 325w
4: 330w
5: 340w! Really felt like I was unleashing the hounds over the last half of this one.
Nice!
DISLCAIMER: Typically I reserve these types of posts for the 33, but there are increasing numbers of you that are interested in training with power so I thought I'd post here. Plus I just feel really good about it
