I have a Kirby Sentria. Problem is it has so much suction that it actually destroys pile carpet. And yes, I got suckered by an aggressive door to door salesman. Payed waaaay too much for it.

The ideal way to get a Kirby is off Craigslist; the price of buying one new is outrageous.
A definite plus is they are fully serviceable and all vacuum shops work on them. They are also very backwards compatible between newer and older models with bags and accessories.
While we have a newer one, my better half suggested one of her friends get one and they picked up an early 90's one for cheap. Turns out the vacuum at the heart of it was essentially the same save some styling changes and minor design revisions. It can even use the same hepa bags and hose/ carpet cleaning attachments as ours.
While not a rug doctor per say, the carpet cleaner attachment is not half bad for normal use.

I rode singletrack on my Steamroller last night again. Everytime I do it I start to question why I even ride anywhere else. There's one little uphill left-handed hairpin turn I just can't figure out. Next time.
Skipped on the Colnago. Dog needed emergency intestinal surgery to remove a clump of wool strands. His favorite toy is an on old super thick wool ski sock. I had no idea he was actually swallowing the thick strands since I found them everywhere. $1200 later..... but he's my best bud and well worth it.
Picked up a metallic silver Samson in my size.
Previous owner used this primer colored touch up paint all over (not even close to original color)...after some wiping down, I find the whole bike is chromed under the paint. Woot!
He mentioned a dent and it took me awhile to even find it....had to hold it up to a light at an angle. Just a 1/4" long line that's too shallow to even catch with my fingernail.
Paid very little.
Will post pics later.
Most importantly...incredible front crown/tire clearance.

Yesterday I had to pass on a killer deal on a 62cm Davidson racing frame. Sucks to pass up a hot steel racing bike but I can't spend money on bikes now.
I had a nice long interview at a pressure vessel manufacturing shop and later went and applied to the Ironworkers Union apprentice program. Hopefully I can get the manufacturing job and have steady work while I call up every union contractor in the area. Tomorrow the Pipefitters union!

Obviously YMMV. I am very happy with my Dyson DC24 Animal. Just myself and a small dog that sheds a bit in an apartment. Works great for me, never an issue with it and honestly, it sucks. That is a good thing. Managed to get mine on sale so it was a good deal for me. Unfortunate that you haven't had as good of an experience with yours.

Friend from socal that's in a group chat with me. He's going to red22 for the #ww . His new Addict is projected to be sub 12 lbs and he has less than 3k invested in it.

I'm putting in mine as soon as my manager has five minutes for me to tell him. I'm not taking any counteroffers though because we're moving back to Buffalo. I guess it's a good day to quit.

Today, my parents were cleaning out their attic. My dad rolled out this old Pinarello Treviso I built up several years ago, and decided to send me a picture. They are going to bring it next time they visit. I'm pretty excited to get the missing parts replaced and ride it again.

Soooo, it looks like I may be staying with my current gig.
I spoke with my current employer, who immediately offered to match the salary of the new position, but I told him that I would need more and wasn't interested in negotiating. He asked what it would take, and I told him that it would take a significant raise, a few grand cash in my pocket right now, and a plan to get me to a much higher salary in 3 years. He told me that he had to think about it for a few hours, and then summoned me to his office 15 minutes later with a very enthusiastic "yes", and with the usual spiel: he sees me being a central and core part of the team, and not to disclose this to other associates for fairness, and the like.
Wow.
Well, I do like my job and quality of life, it was mainly the money that I was chasing down with new employment. There are some bad sides to not accepting the new position and as such I haven't entirely made up my mind, but I'm fairly certain that I'm going to stay.
Woohoo!
