i think i might need a few days of absolutely no movement. i've currently been using crutches to get a few yards to the bathroom, and it pretty consistently causes a big flare up in the pain. way worse than after i broke it, almost tempted to call them again........ i really ****** hope they don't have to back in there again to add or remove a screw or some ****. seems like the pain has been increasing since i got home which is? maybe not normal?
Today I went on a casual and slow group ride on the TK2. "The bike wants to go fast, it's steadier that way....." Well, it does. Riding at 7 mph on it is agonizing. Should have taken something geared. And I somehow messed up the head on my Joe Blow Pro pump. Gonna take a look at that tomorrow and attempt to fix without breaking.

It's probably not your fault. Those pumps totally suck and the heads fall apart in no time. I ended up buying a Topeak Joe Blow Sport II for half the price and it works much better.

Today I put a new chain on my bike.
I didn't lube it, but i did wipe it off with a rag a spritz of WD-40, because sticky.
Also, 11 speed chains are bloody expensive.

I splurged
The ISP is a stupid design for many reasons, but it's just so cool....
Can't wait to build it up.

Cut a bike in half
- well, it had already been cut in half and stretched, and poorly put back together. The guy must have been 8ft tall because it was huge.
I cut it back to original and bent everything back into shape. Silver brazed a splint in each joint.
I jumped on it a few times and its solid now, will ride it for a bit and see what happens. If its any good il paint it gloss black and set it up as a single speed

If not, I only paid a few dollars for the fork anyway

dunno what the last guy did, but there was a V of brass in the bb down tube lug. maybe he cut that too. all of his splints were wonky too so theres that..... he didn't even cover them with any tubing to hide them, just gobs of brass and some red electrical tape
Just cleaning up my work today, and its not so bad... theres going to be some slight bends in it but I think it will align enough for a beater

I'm not sure if the guy I got it from did it or not, he was a bit cagey about it. I would be embarrassed too. He stripped it for a Raleigh royale or something, which this is near identical to in terms of components
anyway. it looks like this now

Needs some more tidying up around the lugs, but otherwise its alright considering. I have enough old bits to get it ridable left over from an old 10 speed, but realised I don't own a 20 pt bottom bracket tool. So it will have to wait till then. I just threw some parts on it to see how it looks. The joins seem strong, I cant get them to flex or creak or anything, and I actually just surfed it down the driveway like that to see how she rolls. It could be better than I had expected

On a side note, I will be commuting to work today since I can pump my tires up. Currently 90°F and no wind. Going geared for this one.
