I prefer the texture of tempeh overall ut they both have their place (facon)

First fixed gear/track bike in 17 years. Now the hard part is going to be waiting the next week or so for the components to arrive.
That's awesome!

But how in the world did you find the decisiveness to get everything within one week of the frame? My current build is going on three months now.

Time for a reboot.

Congratulations! Best wishes to you and your betrothed, however you choose to celebrate.

But if planning stuff literally is sucking the life out of you, maybe you could try planning it figuratively?

Haha. Strict budget, having a wife and two kids made it a little easier.

It will be a far cry from my last track bike but I am stoked none the less!

Today my levers and tape arrived and I want to go put everything together so I can ride tomorrow but it's pretty late and I'm watching tv with my wife so I'm torn.

Talking about P&R outside of P&R is against the rules. It causes problems and takes time from the volunteer moderation staff and as such can be classified as High Maintenance.

Can't tell you if it's a sign of the times or what, but people are sensitive. Give it a rest please.

Surely you know that your humor/satire pushes buttons and is meant to be provocative. That's what gives - not everyone thinks it's funny man.

And for the third time, let's please just let it go. If you would like to continue the discussion offline, feel free to PM me.

There was a pretty awesome 'MS Paint your bike crash" or something along those lines not too long ago. Very entertaining.

No one is forcing anyone to stay. If you don't like how the cook prepares the food, go to a different restaurant.

sup franswa.

I went for a glorious, glorious ride this morning. Kind that makes you happy to be alive. In total it was a 90 minute 'shakedown' ride on the race bike before I hammer it all weekend.

Headed to N Park/Normal Heights at first to drop off my (late) rent check and took a long loop through some pleasant neighborhoods before heading back down to Fiesta for a hot lap. Went straight home from there.

I felt strong and fast on the bike, and really comfertable. Temps in the low 60's, sunny, not a cloud in the sky or wisp of wind. Heck, even a few drivers were nice to me today. #winning

Today I realized the quick release skewer on my car's roof rack won't accept the suspension fork on my mtb. Now I have to go look for a suitable way to get spacers on there.

Problem: The Lefty fork on my Cannondale Jekyll MTB would not fit the Yakima roof rack on my Ford Mustang.

Solution: I sold the Ford Mustang and bought a Ford F150 pickup truck.

Rear seats down, front wheel off, haven't found a bike yet that won't fit. Track to full suspension to road to fat. I ride a 19" in mountain, 58 on road. Won't sell the Mustang for a bike, not yet at least.

It's not easy to remove the front wheel on a Lefty fork.

Haha! Yeah, I will probably look for a pickup when I get further into my apprenticeship. I just want to take my bike with me on a camping trip.

a 5mm hex wrench will loosen the 2 brake caliper bolts and remove the wheel. takes 30sec.

Whatever, dude. I'm still just going to throw it in the bed of my pickup truck. I also would rather throw a dirty after ride MTB in the bed of my pickup truck than inside my car.

Came inside from my ride today, took off my helmet, and realized I had a bee stuck to my face. I don't even know how long that little guy was drowning in my sweat. Also it was 86 degrees outside.

Today I watched the constitutional court confirm the congressional impeachment of the president, necessitating a special mid-term presidential election that will be held in a month or two. Like whoa.

If political speech were allowed on this forum, I might say that I wish I were talking about the US. Alas.
