im honestly surprised they dont have to stop for these people sometimes

im also surprised that in such a huge race they dont regulate these people more

Someone usually gets punched and they back off for the rest of the race. Nbd.

I don't know if can be talked about here.. but is there a good streaming link for the TDF someone could suggest?

Just tried out my new gearing (49x18) a little harder to get warmed up but once I got going I rather enjoy it. So I put 50mi in instead of 30 I had planned.

This is what all the kids say to use:
http://www.steephill.tv/

Also, cyclingtorrents.nl if you're into BT and don't mind watching it after the fact with all the commercials removed.

I have a 16t cog to flip to, but I rarely do since I still climb hills on my track bike. 18t is easier to skid (I'm currently brakeless) and I can still get up to about 36mph descending. I flip to the 16t if I do a flat commute to work (rare) or if I go to the velodrome, I use it as a warmup gear (also rare, but I wish it wasn't).

craigcraigcraig 07-18-13 03:47 PM

today I 62 miles and 7k elevation. now sleepy.

you got hills you can actually call hills over there, i dont really have anything worth mentioning here

thinking about going to ~74gi for more speedz, as it is i avg about 3-4mph faster than my fuji whos top gear is ~67gi

might just keep the leader for a bike around the island and TT myself, i can sprint to 30 mph with the gears now so im tryin to get an avg speed of 20+ mph on an island loop which is around 45mi

1) disagree. this is one if those pace line forums maxims that just shouldn't be established in the first place. we are not all six figure leisure doping cyclists, and our bikes shouldn't have to look like theirs.

your build list sure makes it seem like you are one. :)

C'mon guys that was like the funniest thing I've ever said on BF.

Today I'm doing the suicide hub thing, running 2 brakes, I was really unhappy freewheeling but coasting sure was nice. Dropped down to 46/18(67gi) from 46/16(75gi) and threw on the risers for funsies. And finally, ran 2 miles aiming for a 1:40 every 1/4 mile, my calves are furious. Happy Friday everyone!

am i the only one who thought of Team Fortress II sniper riding by on a bike and yelling "Jarate!" and riding off?

A well deserved yellow jersey after taking out an opposing team's lead out man. They've thrown people out for less and he gets away without any penalty.

Today I got rid of the dropbars and put on bull horns and put in 40 miles and had a goose island honkers ale with my supper. All in all, a good day.

I thought about hitting this gi, too, but that was when I had a brake. I'm happy being slow and able to stop quickly right now.

Thats what I was drinking last night...and probably again tonight. Got a variety pack at costco...the 312's and summer ales were the first to go.

Today sucked...no bike riding and a stressful day at work. I think tonight I'm going to drink the pain away and get up early tomorrow and punish my legs before work.

solipsist716 07-18-13 08:27 PM

The Sofie is pretty great too. The bar I used to work at stocked it often (at least for a dive), until they figured out that the only people ordering it were employees, and therefore not paying full price.

Oh well, not a huge saison guy anyway.

iTripped 07-18-13 09:44 PM

Today I spent most of the day inside due to my back, looking out at the fantastic weather Vancouver is having. I tried riding the bike for about 15 mins and had to give up. Wasn't pleased about it. Will try again tomorrow.

PS - no accident or anything like that. My back is unaligned so this happens from time to time. Working with physio to get things straightened out (literally).

hairnet 07-18-13 09:47 PM

I have been inside all day because of my crash. I was asleep on/off until about 2pm (at least the body took to recovering) and I'm stiff all over. At least the road rash doesn't bother me too much.

Yeah I find that a day of laying about the house is the absolute worst when it comes to stretching. Everything tightens up and sets me back at least a week or so.
