Success !

Just got back from the dentist office, and this time the permanent crown seating went perfectly w/o a glitch. I can now eat anything I want and floss again. It's also a beautiful fall day, so I'm gonna enjoy a nice long bike ride. :)

Keeping up the tales of dental misery... maybe there should be a BFFGSS dental thread?

After seeing the dentist, then the endodontist (twice), about this lump on my lower gum that appeared a month ago.... Today the periodontist took her shot. She sliced and diced for a while, digging way down into the jawbone, practically into my chin, to get enough tissue for a biopsy. Then she got busy with the laser to get rid of the rest of whatever it is. Stitched it all up, put a brace across the teeth (bone loss) and sent me on my way. All for the mere cost of two KiloTT's.

Tell y'all what, smelling your own vaporized flesh definitely puts things into perspective.

I'm happy my wisdom teeth came out without issues and could save the vicodin for fun times.

Today I received a thing in the mail.

The little plastic inserts in the track ends that it shipped with were so brittle that they literally crumbled in my hand, which seemed a little odd. Everything's straight and nothing banged up though, so I'm not worried.

^^^ Nice ! Is the Alpina fork drilled for a brake ?

That's a nice looking frame. Looking forward to seeing it built.

Today I found out that I don't need to do my state inspection on my car or motorcycle for another year. Yeah, baby !

Also, I removed the "Made in China" sticker from undermeath the BB of my Leader Cretin. I can feel the quality improvement already

I had planned on putting a bunch of big rides (~12 hrs in three rides) between this morning and the weekend, but I'm definitely fighting something off; there's something going around at work. Mother ****ers.

This morning was supposed to be 3hrs of mid z2, hard on climbs, but I felt pretty bad all day yesterday and last night. I'm hoping that I can feel better by this evening so I can just swap todays ride for tomorrow, which was a planned day off.

It sucks so hard to not ride when you really want to - but I know I made the right decision. In previous lives, I would have got up at 5:30 anyway, hammered out my ride, then developed a severe flu by mid day.

TMonk - I've been a lot healthier since I retired, since I'm not cooped up inside an office all day surrounded by sick people. The only occasional problem has been food related illness.

TMonk 10-07-15 09:50 AM

Yeah, stupid offices. Two people in my immediate vicinity went home sick yesterday :(

Mumonkan 10-07-15 09:52 AM

protip: zinc

TenSpeedV2 10-07-15 09:54 AM

You should take antibiotics before work, you know, just in case.

TMonk 10-07-15 10:05 AM
