Thanks. We've forgotten what the "big orange ball" looked like. I saw on the news today that Dallas is still flooding due to the lakes continuing to over flow:(

Yeah, there's a nice bike path in Fort Worth along the Trinity river that is submerged and unridable in some places. Also, some country roads are pretty bad with a lot of debris covering them, even after the water has receded. I'm heading out shortly to see if things have improved, now that the rainy weather is gone, and will be sure to put on a bunch of SPF 70 sunscreen.

Still riding a lot and it's been more enjoyable since I'm not having to worry about saving my legs and all that.

Ahhh - I feel ya. Hopefully this will pass over the year/season and you can get back in the game later.

Also, sorry for your loss at Sherblock. That's scary.

Today I got nothing done because my 2mo wouldn't sleep. Complaining, No. I now have a reason to be really lazy all day

USPS "tracking" is a joke.

Today I filed a police report on some psycho lady who tried to run me off the road and almost hit the vehicle next to her in the process. Doubt anything will become of it, but eh..

i tried to file reports against people twice, and both times i got a sigh and essentially "if you werent hurt theres nothing we can do" despite having make/model/plates of car and description of driver

i promptly gave up and started to wave and stay as far away from everyone as i could, hopefully austin pd gives a couple more ****s

They didn't treat me like that....they actually acted like they cared, but I think the outcome will be the same as yours. The dude she almost hit while she tried to pass me as I was taking the middle of my lane chased her down and blocked her in a few lights down. I promptly caught up and took pictures of her car and plates. She had the nerve to tell me I don't belong on roads without bike lanes.

im gonna start carrying around nyc bike pamphlets that have the bike laws on them in a feedbag and hand them out to allstars like that, "have a fantastic day!" and jingle my bell as i pedal away

franswa 06-01-15 03:44 PM

I've considered doing something along those lines but with a sticker you can put on their windshield, with a website with the bike laws. Since they're most likely going to be using their smart phone while driving, might as well be something useful.

just a qr code! that would be amazing! and make it out of those ones they use for people with unpaid parking tickets that require an angle grinder and hydrochloric acid to remove

TIL: Park CT-5 does not work on a KMC K810-SL.

new tool day in my near future.

I always do that - like half the time or more.

Rode the paddy fields today, which means gravel. Technically no bikes allowed but if you can drive on it and walk on it I don't see why you shouldn't be able to bike on it (don't worry, it's a public space). I'm glad I could finally put the Rove to some good use! Who knew we had this kind of terrain in the central valley.

Didn't eat enough, though, and bonked like 4 miles from home. Still not feeling too great lol

We think he must have done that against my pedal. Fortunately it was a Shimano double sided SPD. Can't imagine what a pinned BMX pedal would have done.

He also got some road rash on his elbow, but we have all seen photos of road rash. I thought the one on his back looked somewhat unusual.

Sometimes I will sit on the top tube and pedal when I am out screwing around. Looks comical from what others have told me.

+1

I always do it.

Nah I lied. I always sit on my saddle at the light and precariously lean left and right on my toes.
