Just let me say this...don't ever loan your older car that needs a lot of attention when driven regularly to your kid who you must not have brought up right since he seems to think a you don't have to worry about the oil if an indicator light isn't on and doesn't appear to know what a dipstick is :twitchy:

Looks like a nice one. I'm looking for a new helmet too, but I can't buy one without trying it on. I'll see if any of my local shops carry Lazers.

Mumonkan 11-03-16 11:43 PM

i got mine here - $80

theres 2 sizes, normal heads and gigantor heads. the adjustment dial that i broke allows for a wide range of melons.

one of the reasons i picked this one was cuz i was because i didnt wanna go around trying on helmets. the other reason was because its only $80

They're carried by QBP. Should be pretty easy to find one. Go to your All-City/Surly dealer. Or any bike shop.

If any of you guys were after philwood's tenacious water bottles that sold out during the interbike-intro hype, they have them back in stock!

Tbh I expected a Phil Wood bottle to be at least $30.

Today I rode with arm warmers and a wool undershirt under my cycling jersey for the first time since early Spring. Fall has finally arrived in North Texas.

man i did 50 miles today in shorts and a t-shirt and it felt amazing..!!!

Broctoon 11-04-16 09:45 PM

I went jogging after work today and did 12.6 miles, my personal record for distance. It was on completely flat terrain, and I kept a pretty relaxed pace of about 9:30 per mile (2:01:something total), but it's satisfying nonetheless. Had me some good chicken tacos afterward, and they really hit the spot!

Meanwhile, I probably should have used sunscreen today.

I don't think purist bottles are that bad. My only gripe about the newer design, with the wide low-profile spigot, is sometimes the valve gets sucked back down and closes the bottle after squeezing it for a drink.

I favor the profile of the of the bottle more than camelbak's though.

I like the shape and squeezability, but every single cap has leaked on me, from the threads or the valve itself. And ive tried every style of the valve

Camelbaks have the best design functionally but they definitely are boring

Today I worked on a bike and some component cleaning.

I just ordered a Giro Savant for less $100. My current lid is almost 8 years old. Replaced padding once already. It was time.

seau grateau 11-06-16 06:18 PM

Picked up a new helmet today. I must have a funny shaped head, because I swear, I try on 20 helmets and hate 19 of them. Wound up going with a size S/M Scattante lid, which I was NOT expecting to be a good fit, yet feels really good. Stuff is weird.

The Mrs. did a 1/2 marathon and I biked out to meet her -- Took local bike paths / streets to get there. It was only about 15 miles, but the trails would just end without any sort of signage before getting to the end. Did so much back tracking and whipping out the phone to figure out the best way to go.

Perfect weather though -- cold and crisp.

The good part is that you know how to avoid them now. I found all the cul-de-sacs and dead ends here a long time ago, so now I am authoritative when I tell you I don't know where I am. :foo:

Today I got midpack in my race, but a field of 8 means I still pseudo-podiumed.

I like the first one better myself. :thumb:

First one, because it looks like you're winning.

Unkle Rico 11-07-16 08:49 AM

Went for a quick ride yesterday afternoon -- perfect weather outside :thumb:

While i was riding, my mind does what it always does -- works stuff out or just has total random thoughts. Today for some reason I was thinking that I should probably invest in some locking wheel nuts..

Suggestions?
