Today? You know how you don't have a torque wrench, and you tighten by feel? I was doing that, done it several times on stems, seat posts, whatever. Installed 3T stem on the cross bike. Tightened the face plate up to an evenly spaced perfect installation. Turned the top left bolt less than a quarter turn. Crack. Face plate where the 3 and T meet up.....cracked. Son of a. :(

Today my Wabi Sub 15 wheels were trued.

I'm guessing that they have 1500 miles on them. They were out of true very little but the bike fell over and I had to ride 25 miles back to the start location with the front caliper open.

Richard at CUSTOM HAND BUILT BICYCLE WHEELS Built By Professionals - Prowheelbuider.com was of the opinion that the front tension was too high and the rear tension was too low.

^To be fair, I'm, sure the front tension needs to be pretty damn high with only 20 spokes.

Any wheel that went out of true just because your bike fell over wasn't built very well to begin with.

Maybe it fell over a cliff?

Well, it was a Wabi Sub 15. Everyone oohs and aaahs over these. I bought them for light weight knowing that they are probably a compromise in terms of durability. At the end of the day I really don't know though.

It could have been out prior and I didn't notice. After it fell over I checked everything for damage and saw that the wheel was rubbing.

Rode my subs for almost 6000 miles with only two minor trues needed. I'm no featherweight and I ride the **** out of my bikes.

Today I did 40 miles. Beautiful low 60's weather -- SoCal winters are ****ing ace.

I've put maybe 400+ miles on my Wabi Classic with Sub 15's and so far so good and I'm 6'2" and 205 and the roads I ride aren't glass smooth either. I love them so far. The lighter weight really is noticeable over the standard wheels. I'm running Challenge Paris Roubaix 28's on them with latex tubes. Super fast and super smooth.

Today I am strongly considering selling a buddy my 6800 group so I can go Chorus on the MX Leader. Seems like the right thing to do.

I have 25's and thought those were pretty wide when I put them on.

Agreed about the lighter weight being noticeable. I was able to power over hills that I had previously struggled with when running the OEM wheels.

Today I thought about [MENTION=418438]TimothyH[/MENTION] after I got home from my commute home. 23°F and it felt like 12°F with the wind chill. My iPhone battery went from 72% down to 14% from the cold in 32 minutes. They don't handle the cold well. Oh, and this is just the start of winter. The snow is coming this weekend. Forecasted for 4-6" Saturday night into Sunday and then another 1-3" Sunday night. Good times I am telling you!!!

It's funny that you mention that because my jacket has a zippered wind proof pocket. I forgot to put my phone in there last night. I have a pouch on my bag and just threw it in there out of habit.

Well photos on the bike would have been a bit more fun, but I'll accept this for now. That cassette is so sexy!

Today I put my fixed gear bike back together. New bar tape, rear brake cable, cleaned and polished, wheels trued.

Most importantly, the brake hoods are completely even with each other. I rode the stupid thing a thousand miles with one hood two or three millimeters lower than the other and it annoyed the crud out of me the whole time. Felt like I was constantly turning left like NASCAR.

Hilly 10 mile run today. Found a new trail, it flurried. Life is good.

Today I bought a fat bike. EP from my shop so it was kind of hard to turn down. I had assembled it right before fall and it never sold. Norco Sasquatch 6.2 rigid. 1x10 Shimano SLX, carbon fork, Avid hydraulic brakes, Schwalbe 26x4.8 meats....pretty friggin sweet. Get to try it out this weekend because we are forecasted anywhere from 6-10" by Monday morning. No pictures yet, hard in my apartment and the lighting in the hallway is mediocre at best.

Scratched the hell out of the rear stay by loading it in my non bike friendly car. Guess I don't have to worry about that first crash now.
