Just close your eyes, bro.
I dont care what the argument between the two of you is, but jesus this is by far the dumbest thing I have ever read in my entire life. Is it a poem? What are you even trying to say? Why waste your time? Did you have to think to type this? How old are you?

Its just a bike in the end so ride what you like. I am skeptical about opinions on these forums since some of these guys own shops and sell certain brands here...or straight up shilling by company bros.

State bicycle cant be that bad...have not seen one of their frames assplode yet. State bicycle does sound cooler than Mercier or Motobecane. BD house brands are generally looked down on from what I have read. Maybe...or at least state bicycle designs their own frames rather than BD who basically buys a design and slaps one of their bought out names on it. I would say go with state if you buy locally so you can get fitted...and go with bd as a last resort.

Everyone here has a thing for the Kilo TT for some reason, in spite of the many well-documented problems that the frequently come with. I'd probably take something like a State over a Kilo just to avoid the dumb frame design and frequent quality control issues.

Jaw Dropping.

Frames built somewhat competently with crap components or Sloppy welding in pretty colors?

I've seen some of the seatstays on those things. Unnervingly uneven.

Besides the advice of getting fitted, the rest of your post is uninformed speculative gibberish. Seriously. You're operating on assumptions. The part I bolded in particular...it's obvious you are basing your uninformed opinion on the few bits of info you've picked up in your short few weeks on these forums and are now an "expert" right? State "designs" their bikes by figuring out what sells (gimmmicky "model" names and pretty hipster colors) and then asks a factory overseas to produce it. They use chaep no-name components, and their products are generic and trite. Hardly worth the praise you're showing them.

State ripped their contest idea off from HighLights magazine.

Ok so break down their contender model for me and tell me what is wrong with it:

https://www.statebicycle.com/product_p/contender.htm

Components seem fair...not jaw dropping but neither is the kilo tt. What makes the kilo tt geo so much better? All I gotta say is there are different flavors of koolaid out there that taste good. Do not stick just to one cherry flavor (kilo tt pro) when grape flavor (state bicycle) may just be as good.

It costs $200 more than a tt pro, has a worse crankset, has no-name wheels.

You think the difference in the fork is worth $200?

The Kilo TT isn't even tuned when you get it. How much will you have to spend on taking it to a shop etc. to have them check over everything to make sure everything is properly lubed, wheels trued, etc.

Parts warranties...what if you need to warranty a part out? You can't go to the local Bikesdirect can you?

Yes the carbon fork, buying from a good local lbs that will tune up the bike for you, and warrany out parts for you, is worth an extra 200 bucks. In the end how much are you really saving with a BD purchase?

What if (like me) you don't like carbon forks and would prefer a steel one and can tune your own bike? SO in the end I would save...that's right: $200

I thought State was a more colorful BD. Good frame beats crabon fork.
Also, learn to wrench. It's a fixie. Not a lot of moving parts there.

Actually, you'd save $250. Also, a good steel fork beats a cheap carbon fork any day.

Yep, similar prices & somewhat similar products to BD...but they pick up where BD left off. State will sell you a generic fixie, and unlike BD they are willing to hold your hand in public, and if you're really nice maybe even a smooch at the end of the night.
