Apparently art school didn't offer any classes in welding.
And here's a good quote, about their "mountain bikish bike" (gawd):
The All American urban youth culture has matured and gone from back alley to high street. Biomega Street is the Scandinavian take on US-style bad boy culture. These Street bikes will take any grind & curb stones the city asphalt has to
Sweet they got their dorm room buddy who majored in marketing to write the copy! So hip and witty.

More crap from these dilettantes:
MN01
Designed by renowned industrial designer Mark Newson, the MN01 is arguably the most innovative city bike ever built. The MN’s frame represents a revolutionary approach to bicycle design utilizing “superplastic aluminium”
Oh, sweet! Because designing a rideable bike is just like designing furniture and lamps.
Tom Kellogg, Richard Sachs, et al. need to get their act together, c'mon guys -innovate!

I've actually met these guys and rode a couple of their bikes. They are uber-hip eurodesign dudes with tight jackets and expensive glasses, and the bikes are pretty fun. Though not featured on the website, they have a couple are shaft-drive single speeds with the shaft replacing the right chainstay. They have a clean, efficent look, a similar aesthetic to the urban track bike. I wouldn't ride them around town, but god bless 'em for making things more interesting.
[Edit] I found pictures of the bikes I rode:
This one was cool. It is a single speed that doesn't get your designer jeans dirty.
This one has an unbelivable amout of side-to-side flex in the rear, and nowhere to lock it up.

'Carlsberg. Probably the best beer in town!'
I think the above quote would definitely NOT fly in a Danish domestic market. They just think Americans are loud, arrogant and garrishly braggardly, especially in our advertising. They're right, and unfortunately, they also aspire to have such swagger.

Call me crazy, but I don't something can be "the most innovative city bike ever built" if it has a solid, one-piece frame that makes locking up totally impossible. These bikes do look pretty cool though.

true true, they are producing neat stuff. But they really choose form over function a thousand times over. Shaft drive is a neat concept but its neither as efficent as the chain nor as easy to work on. The little dune buggy bike, though somewhat neat looking, really belongs back at Kmart.
Yet, I would dig on the monoque one if it came with the shaft drive.

i agree they are neat designs (hardly original), but..... maybe a if they hired someone with a little engineering background and better technical skills than these idiots... they could have worked together and used a better material than this "plastic aluminum". (that's probably why the real wheel flexes so much) that or the fact they in the specs they claim the frames are two peice and 'glued' together down a center seam......
sketchy.
they would have been better off exploring carbon fiber, it's a simple materal to constuct, etc...

Now, where do I start? My passion for bagging the crap out of bullsh1t like this has no bounds. 'Props to Marc Newson'? Are you on drugs? His the most over-rated ****** just short of Philippe Starck.
These fuçkers give Industrial Design a bad name. It's embarrassing. I'M EMBARRASSED. I'm embarrassed because I'm an Industrial Designer and I hate that the public have to put up with mediocre **** like this. Companies are buying into their self-promotion of poorly designed, minimalist 'designer' crap that his little or no social or cultural relevance, let alone any FUNCTIONAL characteristics.
Granted, the Puma bike is not as bad as the Biomega vomit. That designer bullsh1t takes the cake, just one rung above the Audi, Mercedes and Porsche bikes.
Actually, I think the name 'Biomega' is derrived from that Z shaped frame of theirs.....'bio' meaning 'life' and 'mega', meaning the degree of scrotal pain experienced during dismounts for anyone under 6ft 2ins.
And who said irony is a dead scene?
