38 miles yesterday that included a painful wait for the swing bridge, with 2 miles to go, with some very annoying tourists that thought I was a tourist attraction.

A hard and fast 20+/almost 30, 6-7 ride to the shop then I did 18'ish at 18'ish.
These guys were fast, it was all I could do to keep up.
The owner steadily pulled away from me, and I was chasing at 27.7.

Multi-speed, freehub, coasting, whoa...

Well the wind was a little better today but the temp here in Central FL hit 90 so I guess the high temps are here to stay for a while. We could sure use some rain. Everything is dry and humidity is low.

Todays ride 30.20 miles
Total this mo. 99.39 miles
Total this yr. 2077.57 miles

I got a second ride in today... 18.86 miles... about 39 miles on the day... The most I've ridden in one day since I started riding again a couple of weeks ago. Was a nice ride with hardly anybody on the trail. Felt like a slight headwind... or i was just getting tired

I got on for the first time in 6 years, and wore myself out after a half mile. Fortunately it wasn't a "whoa, gotta go home" wearout, just the "need to stop for a minute" sort. I went back anyway since the sun was already baring down on me, and I was without sunscreen.

A little windy here this morning but got in a good 11 mi ride.

Had an arteriogram/angiogram done on both legs this year. Left six weeks ago and right 3 weeks ago. Had some issues after the second one and doc told me not to ride for a couple of months. Hard headed old fart that I am, I followed his advice and waited two weeks. going to ride the 11mi ride again on Thursday and wife and I are going to try 30mi on the Silver Comet on Saturday morning.

I got a ride in today, but it wasn't very fun Started out ok in east Palatka and the plan was to ride to Crescent Beach..... I had a nice tail wind for the first 6 miles or so, was cruising along pretty good despite the LUV BUGS....... uggggggg cant believe they are out. My bike has been making a bit of noise for a couple of days could not figure out what it was till today. (so tightened up the pivot alan bolt for the front brakes .... not sure thats what it is called.) Rode into a head wind for a few miles... then started hearing a tick, tick, tick when I pedaled.. Stopped several time to try and figure out what it was. Finally figured that out... seems the bearings in the right pedal are doing the ticking. I can rock the pedal a but there is a little bit of play in it. Not sure if you can tighten them a bit or not. They are Shimano PD-A520 pedals... Anyway I gave up and got a lil bit over 18 mile ride in...

Rode the mountain bike today, (waiting for new pedals for the road bike). Forgot to look at the distance but rode 1hr and 6m ... I want to support the bike shop where I bought my road bike, but they make it hard when they want 80 bucks (plus tax & gas to get there about 62miles round trip) for the same pedals i can get for $53 total online.

Yes its hard, but sometimes its important to do so anyway. Isn't there a little shop in Palatka now, check with them. I beleive that I've seen it listed in CL.

Another 30+/- day. *this is the most I've rider in years and it feels great to be spining pedals and wrenchs again.

You know I totally forgot about the new bike shop in Palatka.... DOH!!! Uggg and I just saw the small sign they have too when I was paying my cable bill the other day. Wonder if the place is run by the same guy (Edison .. first name I think) that had the bike shop in Palatka 4 or 5 years ago.

12 miles this morning. Felt pretty good except that my knee reminded me that it needs some medical attention pretty soon.]

Planning to do 25 - 30 on the Silver Comet on Saturday.

Um, couldn't tell ya'. I'm in Orange Park and have limited access to a vehicle with no need to go to Palatka for a lbs. Especially since I know work at one again. Yeah!!!

Another 30+ day...

It's been the biggest riding week I've had in years, on track for a 150+ mile week. And I'm trying to convince myself to be at the shop sat for a 7:30 am ride.

<sigh> No ride today, but I did move both bikes around a bit LOL. I put over 8k miles on my mountain bike mostly road riding... but now I cant stand to ride it on pavement after getting a road bike ... Not really a lot of fun riding off into the woods by myself. I'm always afraid im gonna get hurt or something in the middle of no place.

The nearest LBS to me was Gainesville, about 30 to 35 miles away. So for sure i'm gonna have to check out the new one in Palatka. Hmmmm maybe actually ride my bike to the bike shop when I get the new pedals... now that's a thought..

Well I sort of got a ride in today on the mountain bike. I say sort of because I rode on this trail (Moses Creek on SR 206 just before the draw bridge near crescent beach) that I have not ridden on in a couple of years and I ended up doing a bunch of walking. Trail turned into sugar sand. So I walked 2 or 3 miles in the 90+ deg heat in my bike shoes of course. I dont know how far I walked/rode but i was out there for just over 2hrs.

Ehh, several rides in the last two weeks including a tandem ride or two, but had just as much fun today on a 12 mile ride on my new fixie. hehe! Listen to me ... "fixie". I sound like the kid with the orange hair and nose ring that thinks tatoos, dreadlocks, pants patches and beer have something to do with cycling!

I haven't been on a track bike in probably 25 years, and I had forgotten how hard it is not only to climb with just one gear, but to descend with no freewheel! Only did "the roadie thing" 3 minor times, (none resulting in an FDGB), and then the memory seemed to come back.

But oh boy! Is having a fixed gear on the road ever going to get this member of Team OFMIS, (Old Fat Men In Spandex), back in shape fast!

I rode about 35 miles on the Withlacochee Trail today, longest ride I have done in a couple of years. I have been sick off and on since last July, just getting up to speed again. Unfortunately, I'll be out of commission for the next month as the docs are going to cut out part of my intestines on Monday. I'll be in the hospital for 5-7 days and then a few weeks of recovery after that. The only positive of being sick is that I am now 30 lbs. lighter and may lose another 10-20 in the next couple of weeks. It's been decades since I was under 160 pounds!

Yep

33 Miles on the silver comet today. My longest ride of the year so far.

And, thanks to those who suggested getting on the trail @ seaboard rd.

We did just that and rode to Rockmart.

Sure a lot more elevation change than I'm used to. There aren't many hills around Savannah.
