Agreed - in fact, it looks like the museum had it for sale at some point. It's also possible that the seller just pulled pictures of a similar bike for the ad. But it adds (added) to the fishiness of the listing.

That being said, if it were my size I still would have checked it out.

Seems like a reasonable opening price for a 1960s celeste Bianchi. Thoughts?

leegf,

Neat! How do you do a "reverse image search"?

Thanks, Dick

Dick,

Using a Google Chrome web browser, you right-click on the image in question and select "Search Google for this image". For all other browsers, you would go to www.google.com/images, click the camera icon, then either paste the image URL (https://images.craigslist.org/00j0j_b...Fe_600x450.jpg in this case) or upload it to Google if the image is stored on your computer.

Wouldnt you want a steel frame for touring? Aluminum would be harsh, no?

I wouldn't know. There's no way I could ever do a tour. A days worth of riding is where I draw the line.

I know he's a big fan of it and it seems Cannondale did a multi year run of them, granted highly doubt all/many were dedicated tourers, so you'd think they were fairly popular at least. I just know it's a cool looking rig when it's loaded for bear.

I moved about 2 years ago. If this were 2 cm smaller, I would be all over it, but I have just undertaken a significant project just today. Top Secret until it gets farther along.

Dropouts look like they're stamped. Could be just a Rekord with upgraded components?

condition: Just tuned up / Ready to ride!

more ads by this user

Recently tuned up by a bike mechanic to make sure everything works -- brakes, gears, tires, etc

New tires and bar tape were installed during today's tune up!

15-speeds

Fairly light weight, double butted Chromo Tange frame

Convenient carrying rack over the back tire ... Yes, this is the touring model so it can accommodate panniers

Ready to ride with no repairs or adjustments needed

The frame has some light scratches which do not impact the bike's performance and have been factored into the price

Three minute walk from the Porter Square T station (red line) in Cambridge.

Call or text me at 978-888-5855 and please refer to the Nishiki Cresta road bike ... Thanks!

Dunno about the sticker, but the lug work is good and it has Campy dropouts. It can't be too bad with those features. Go check it out, it's near you.

It's a very large frame, 25 inches. I needs a tall rider, someone taller than 6 ft. It should be carefully repainted. The components are a mix of brands and some are cheap updates. Still, very interesting.
