Pumped Valvoline into this old hub 'til I saw red oozing out. Took her for a 7 mile trail ride and this rusty poo oozed out. Guess I need to pump a little more. (yeah, I know I need a spacer. gotta live with random washer stack for now.)
Trail surface was perfectly damp, tires stuck like glue and I was railing it like I couldn't believe!
And killer runs up and down the switchbacks!

I just rode this place today. It's above my skill level but I still tip-toe'd it. It definitely gave me a solid understanding of how to tackle large jumps that I otherwise would not have had if I just rode single track endlessly (which I still love doing).

Its def an extremely place, I couldnt ever ride their exclusively but still fun. Dont worry about a fully suspended bike, at a race there last year I watched a guy lay down a competitive time on BMX bike, but I'm supper happy you had a good time, we'll have to ride if I'm in Ohio this summer
EDIT: I'm guessing he was pissing people off on some downhill sections just coasting. Kinda reminiscent of my last race, back in 1993, where I was riding rigid and almost everyone else had front suspension. I would pass guys on the uphills then hold them up on the downhills. It was really bad on the big downhill section, as the trail was only about 6" wide, going straight down the fall line, with tall grass hiding rocks and holes on either side

BMX bike? Burly! How long was the course? How many laps? Was it a BMX cruiser at least?

It's a pretty gnarly trail. Like I said, I tip-toe'd but I still got up (and went down once or twice!). There's 4 trails and all of them have a lot of jumps and banks. Some of the jumps are pretty damn big. Like I said, beyond my current ability but fun nonetheless. Each one is probably less than a mile at most.
Doesn't seem like your typical trail in central Ohio (considering how much elevation change it has).

Check out Mohican Wilderness (8 gnarly miles, also has a true downhill trail comparable to bike park stuff) and mohican state park (25 mile epic), you'll love those

^ May be having the 1st snow ride of the yr there this Thursday @6.
I think I may have gotten my final high-ride of the season in before this week's expected snowstorm. Started a touch above Echo Lake & descended into Idaho Springs.... about -3,500' in 12 miles.
Trail's right there, go for it!
Action Jackson!
Home, sweet home.
Some fun trails out yonder!!

Today and yesterday, working off a cold. Blowing snot all over the woods, getting the fit and feel of the new ride set.
Yesterday @ Blue Mtn. Wide and flat bar with a -5* 75mm stem. The flat bar really just didn't feel right.
Stuck another bar on. Same width, but only a 12.5mm rise and in the bike's stock stem, a -8* 70mm Giant branded unit. *perfect*
I'm usually pretty good with the timer, but didn't get this one quite right for the air.

What in the world is that in the third pic down?
Great pics as usual BTW, always a highlight of my nightly visits to BF.

That's what it looked like, but the silver part in the middle looks kind of like it could be the back of an older digital camera or something & that got my depth perception all screwy. How kind of them to kill it out in the wood where surely no one would see it

Taking advantage of the first snow of the season. My rear derailleur froze up enough to make my bike a single speed. Anyone know of a way keep a bike shifting in freezing temps and a couple inches of snow hahaha?

Once it gets a bit colder it will be less of an issue... there is a certain temperature and condition under which freezing derailleur happens... otherwise simply chance your cables to full housings.
