Just bought this puppy from someone on roadbikreview.
It's a 1989 from the Waterford factory. Other than one painted-over scratch on the front fork, it looks brand new. The cassette isn't even dirty.
Swapping out the stem, saddle, chainrings and cassette. Will post pics when done.

Personal preferences. I prefer the feel of the new 7900 hoods and the way the front shifts but that's it. I prefer the look of the older crank then the new sand blast look and I also prefer the shift quality of the older non-hidden cables. The 7800 DOES shift nicer than the 7900. That's just fact. So....they both have there advantages so it comes down to which you prefer.

I finally glued up all of my new tires. Next thing I have to do is send in three Continental Competition tubulars to the repair man, and find rims for those; probably the spare set of 32 hole tubular Velocity rims I have kicking around.
It's funny: I used to have 1 tubular tire, and now my basemet is full of about a dozen tubulars. Now I've got a hole in the sidewall of the P3R on my Giant and I'm trying to find a used clincer to put on until I want to break out my new set of P3Rs.
::EDIT:: A picture would help.

'08 Van Dessel Hellafaster frame, with assymetrical chainstays, rad aero downtube, carbon airfoil seatpost. Force 08 shifters, 09 (black) Rival RD, cranks, and brakes, and an 08 silver Rival FD. Alpha Q fork. Thomson Elite stem, Ritchey WCS bars, pink Jagwire housing set, Fizik Aliante The wheels are Velocity Fusion/Shimano 105/DB spokes. I also have a set of Chris King hubs/Mavic Reflex tubie rim wheels I'm bringing over from the CX bike for race wheels. I love this bike. I'll use it for a whole gang of training, crits, what road races we have near Chicago (not many), and the occasional TT.

09 Roubaix SL2 with 08 Dura-ace and 08 Zipp 404's.
VeloSIRraptor
My Specialized Allez Sport '06.
I got it NOS, rode it till the Tiagra fell apart and changed the OEM stuff for a full DA 9spd group.
The wheels are upgraded to Rolf Prima Apex.
No complaints about the frame, wheels, or group.
weight is +/- 18lbs 9oz
I just installed raceblades yesterday, so I photographed it first. (I moved to seattle, some things can't be avoided)
I usually run a wired PT on the bike, but it hasn't been re-installed since my move two months ago.
I'm working on the yoga and stretching before I "flip it". The some spacers are going to get pulled out next week.

thats a clever way to store the bike. but if i tried to do it, it would fall off the wall b/c of incorrect installation of the shelves and hook. I've experienced this first hand with my ill-fated attempt to install a towel rack in the bathroom

Hey All!
Hey, this is my first post here, but I have been riding since college. Here is my current ride. Its a Lemond Etape. 59 frame. Bontrager crank. LOOK clipless pedals. Not a hardcore setup but it gets me from point a to point b, and has completed a couple sprint tri's. Cheers!

Picked this up for my wife today. She's from Europe and insisted on two things: 1) Blue color, and 2) European brand. Now, she got more than that- a made in Italia frame & Campy components, plus Mavic wheels made in France.
Anyone guess what year this is? I'm thinking late 90s? Obviously it's a cromoly bike. Pretty light though. 47cm
It's her first road bike. Now, to convince her to try clipless!

If it has the slightly flattened oval down tube, it's probably a 98. I had a 97 Veloce (i think it was a 97) and they still used the round downtubes.
But somewhere around there in age.
