I've got four years on a daily-use cassette, and I've never skipped a ride for rain. Still probably only averages out to once/month though. I do run fenders that protect my rings:

What kind of fenders are you running on there? I've got some Race Blades that I've been mostly happy with, but they're a pain to adjust properly so they don't rub. I'm running 25's though, so the tolerance is tighter than the spec for the fenders should allow.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I'm not WR, but those look like Crud Roadracers. I've got a set that I used last year and they work really well. The downside for them is that you can't run anything larger than 700x25s, and the 700x25s have to be on the small side. My Gatorskins worked at 24.3mm wide, but my Krylions were too big at 26.7mm. If you run 700x23s, you're golden.

i dont even want to mention the o'henry bars.

Dolamite02 11-01-13 01:27 PM

The Race Blades I have are an older version of these which spec 18-23c, they do have an XL version though that handles 25-32c. Im tempted to try out the larger set since I don't see me going back to anything less than 25's. They are easy to install and I think with wider tolerances, would be easy to adjust, but I'm right at capacity for the smaller set.

The thing I really like is the fact that they don't have to be bolted or ziptied anywhere, just rubber straps.

You're keeping Sue Ellen Mishke in nothing but bras. Good for you.

I am WR, and those still look like Crud Racers.

I was at my girlfriends house the other day, and her mother gave me a bag of those. Next thing we knew they were all gone. I then got another bag. I love being a fatty!

If you want to do something similar and feel at a little better about yourself, make a peanut butter and Nutella sandwich. That much fat - even good fat - can't be too good for you, but it's got to be an improvement.

Oh, please. If someone thinks reese's are addictive, they obviously have never had a tray of oreos or a bag of tostitos. Those are the products that are impossible to set down.

see, my issue is that I'll settle down and cozy up to bags and trays of all three at once.

My big victory this year is donuts. Make a fresh pot of coffee and I can do some serious damage to a box of donuts. Haven't had a donut for about six months now.

I need to back off on peanuts and Fig Newtons. My inner voice keeps saying, "But they're good for you!"

Doughnuts are just too expensive these days. A dozen from Krispy Kreme is like 8 bucks with tax or something now. Even from dunkin they are over a buck each I think.

SpeshulEd 11-02-13 01:37 PM

They still have Krispy Kreme's?

In NOLA, the Krispy Kreme shops have signs that let you know when a fresh batch is ready. Cars are lined up around the shop waiting to get the warm, gooey things from the "To Go" window.

They did that too when I lived in Michigan...honestly, there was a Krispy Kreme every few miles. Same when I moved to AZ. Then about 3-4 years ago they all disappeared out here.

I googled...looks like they completely cleared out of MI and only 6 AZ locations
http://locations.krispykreme.com/

Now it seems like Dunkin Donuts are everywhere.

We are lucky to have a couple of mom and pop donut shops nearby...great donuts, low prices! I just wish they made better coffee!

I realize our little local CX series is all for fun and it's a categorize yourself type thing, but if you show up in a jersey with stars and stripes on the sleeve, should you really be racing in the C's? I'm sure it was for some other discipline, but c'mon.
