About the Di2 settings

Hi there

I've just pulled the trigger on an DI2 6870 / R785 upgrade for my all mechanical CX bike and I was wondering about the settings of Di2.
  1. Where are the settings for each component stored? In the component itself or in the junction, levers etc?
  2. Are one able to create a backup of the settings in the E-Tube software? Say you need to replace the RD, you take a backup, install the new RD, adjust the limiter screws, restore the backup and ride?

I can't find the answers for these questions anywhere. Anyone knows?

I'll answer myself.

1. Don't know this for sure, but I can't imagine other than each component keep its own settings.
2. You can for sure make a backup of the settings in the E-Tube software.

you can create a profile in the e tube software. i am not sure if it will save the index settings on the derailleurs or not.
