I like my bike simple, and clean, straight cable, back brake only, no pegs, slammed seat and ill be going back to my KMC 510hx chain soon, i dont like my Shadow and its a bit rusty.

Yeah but the one gyro tab that sits on the headtube rquires me taking my un-sealed headset apart and the chance that the bearing cages have snapped because the headset is about 2 years old. and the uper tabs is acting as a spacer for my fork.

what dont you like about the shadow? I havent had any problems with mine.

eightdip 06-13-06 02:42 PM

the only problem with mine is that its a bugger to put on and also it stretches loads. apart from that, its great!

Its ulgy.
It was a pain to put on.
The links are different, so i needed a special chain breaker.
And its rusting.
And its ulgy.

The 510hx is soo much cleaner looking, and more 'normal'...

I have a KMC pintle chain, which is the exact same thing as the shadow, but in my opinion, better because its made by KMC. Anyway, I havent had any problems with it at all, I've been using it for a little over 2 months now and it hasent streched, and it was easy as ever to put on. I personaly like the look, and it helped me get my back wheel slammed in the dropouts. As for the needing a different chain breaker problem, it didn't matter to me because I don't have a chain breaker anyway, I just put the chain in a vice and tap out the pin with a hammer and a small screw driver, works just as well as a regular chain breaker. Also, I have slammed that chain on ledges and rails quite a bit, and nothing has happend to it, it seems to be alot stronger than a regular chain because I used to break chains all the time. I guess if your just a trail rider it's not a big issue though.

This is the best chain.

And if i was going to go back to a half link design, then i would go with the Shadow becuase it was their idea.

I also dont really need a Shadow chain, because i dont run pegs or do pedal or sprocket grinds, so it doesnt get bashed or grinded. Im also fairly smooth.

I just use a pair of sealed Oddy Twisteds with long pins, they're ok, but not the greatest.

I got the JC's today, $109

It would be nice if they atleast used lube.

Hmm??? So if i wanted to sell a frame for $10 bucks, i should just sell it to people from canada and double the price. What a great idea! To bad i'm too lazy to follow throughwith it.
