Looking for a classic quill stems

I have a Mondonico, just got it last fall and need a shorter stem. The Origin8 is good, but I can't find anybody with 90mm in stock. Let me know if you know somebody with stock or if you know if you can recommend a similar stem.

Forgot, here's a picture of the bike (as I want it to look when I'm done):

This is the bike as it is today:

Bikes: A bunch of old bikes and a few new ones

Cinelli 1A stems are available: Universal Cycles -- Cinelli 1A Quill Stem

Classic design and a fine stem to boot.

I've got one of the repop Cinelli 1A and not sure I could tell the difference between the new and old. New ones are made in Taiwan but you can get it in 90mm as that's what I bought. The style of the Velo Orange stem looks too old for this bike.

Bikes: blue ones.

That Modolo Speedy stem in the catalogue picture has a reputation for failure, be advised. It looks cool, though.

Thank you for the help and suggestions. I've been really focused on a stem just like the one in the picture. I came back to post my findings and saw your post.

I found the Modolo on eBay today. So I looked up more information on Modolo stems and found out that this was called the 'death stem'. Needless to say, I will not be going for that exact stem.

Bikes: Cheltenham-Pedersen racer, Boulder F/S Paris-Roubaix, Varsity racer, '52 Christophe, '62 Continental, '92 Merckx, '75 Limongi, '76 Presto, '72 Gitane SC, '71 Schwinn SS, etc.

It's been pointed out in an earlier thread that a certain model of Nitto stem measures 5mm longer than specified when measured center-to-center, on centers, along the extension.

Most Italian stems, including traditional Cinelli stems, and some of the better Japanese stems oddly enough, measure 5mm shorter than specified, when measured center-to-center, on centers, parallel to the stem extension.

Can anyone verify the standard method of measuring one of today's Cinelli 1A stems? Is it across the top, as in the old days, or is it per the drawing board style, measured center-to-center, on centers along the extension?

Ended up with a different Origin8 stem, I'm OK with this stem. I will continue to look for something nicer, but now I have a stem that fits me, so I can now ride this beauty!

Occasionally will find these Ti stems made by Serotta on fleabay. (Sorry for the poor pics, gravel dust dirt and all) The name is not decal but rather laser etched. Kind of a classic quill 'between' or entering the dual control era. Also, the finish is a close match to the DA levers.

Nice,

Now you just need to insert that stem a bit farther into the steerer, for safety sake.
Unless that is one of those very long quill stems.

This is a long stem - it's at it's tallest - started tall and working my way down.
