I'm not sure about this, but I've seen a few 87 Schwinn Super Sports on the Show Off Your Vintage Schwinn road bike thread and most of them have a 6 speed rear gears with Shimano or Suntour components. I'm going to go check the rear drop out width again. Pretty sure it's 126 mm. Anyway, I'll make a note of looking for a Suntour Ultra 5 freewheel. Thanks!

I'm sort of looking for one of those Cannondale Headshock hardtail MTBs to turn into a dirt-drop XC/tourer type thing. I know that headset can be a pain but I saw one years ago that was a drop bar tourer (not sure if Cannondale made a bike with headshock and drops or if it was a custom job) and always thought it was neat. Someone either talk me out of it or enable me to go down this rabbit hole. I'll need something largeish. Have lots of parts/a couple frames to trade.

My 89 Schwinn Tempo 7 speed definitely is a 126 mm drop-out width. But the Super Sport measures about 124 mm??? I'm kind of in a quandary about that.

ISO: Shimano Dura Ace 32-hole front hub, ideally a 7402 to match the rear, but a model close to that is fine.
Have: Lots of drivetrain parts, brakes, vintage bits and pieces. Let me know what you're looking for. |
I have a box o' crap complete with a 1971 -72 Schwinn Collegiate 5 speed. no frame, no chain cover, everything else in a box all in pretty good shape. Trade for English 3-speed items.

Record front derailleur cage flat front
1 Attachment(s)
Dumb things happen and don’t ask how—but I broke the flat outside no hole cage off the FD for my Italian Lygie build.
What are the chances of a spare cage out there? Hoping to buy. It’s part no 784 on a 1052 FD clamp on. |
^ On the bright side, you now have a cool key fob for your car keys.

I have some spares but they are not in as nice condition as yours. If you want them I only ask cost of shipping, though it is from Canada, which unfortunately is 7 USD.

After a well needed full service and clean, I converted it to a road drop, Sora dual control STI, shorter stem (exclusive CODA), fit new Conti Speed something or other 42 mm width rubber. With the new rubber and consumables, I'm into it for $150. Heavier machine but highly capable to cover all sorts of terrain. Honestly think these bikes are ugly but do like the robust feel and seem rugged enough to take hard use. All aluminum one would think it a harsh ride, yet its incredibly plush, best of anything I have. Anyways, since this recent find I've scouted around for similar Cannondales. These hybrids are out there and $150 is the going rate. I'd recommend it vs. a mountain bike. The platform is there with hardly any mods needed. |
ISO triple MTB crankset
ISO a triple MTB crankset.
Looking for ramped and pinned for index shifting 48/38/28 or a Shimano fc-m590 or 591 48/36/26. Must have silver crank arms. Have some trade items, let me know what you need and I'll see if I can help. Or we can work out other arrangements. Thanks |

I've got a lonely dust cap at the house but I'm not sure if it is Sugino or one of the ones you need. Will let you know asap. |
