PM sent.

ISO: Single-sided downtube shifter boss band for a late 70's Peugeot.

Looks something like this...

http://thumbs4.picclick.com/d/l400/p...-On-Bosses.jpg

I bought the frame (1977 P7) bare, and am not 100% sure which one I'll need. It's a mid/low-end Carbolite frame, if that helps.

Have lots of 80's Shimano bits to trade. Thanks!

billytwosheds are you looking for one of these single arm levers, or is it too early for your needs?

Simplex Prestige Down Tube Shifter | eBay

If you are looking for one of those Simplex, I've got one (maybe two?) in the bins. If you've got an FD 1050/1051, I owe tyler_fred a return favor.

Be sure everyone knows the threading for the one post, the French loved to do things differently...

Thanks! I think those are too early...as mountaindave mentioned.

FWIW I tapped the existing brazed-on boss to 4.5 so it would take an SIS downtube shifter.

And I'm fine tapping the banded boss, which is probably what I'll have to do when I locate one.

TIA!

Anyone interested in a black Brooks Pro ( large rivets ) I am ISO a Brooks B 17 Standard in honey. Seems my rear end does not really like the Pro too much - love the two B17s I have on other bikes. A brown Ideale 80 would also work. Perhaps a trade - the Pro is in decent condition, still usable.

I also have:
Shimano Dura Ace 1st Generation double crank set ( 52/42 )
Christophe black plastic mtn. toe clips w/ neon green straps
Tektro silver R539 nutted side pull brakes
Pair Mafac brake levers, no hoods, good condition
Huret down tube shifter clamp band
Huret extra long shift levers with clamp
New Afa toe clip straps in white.
Suntour SVX short cage rear derailleur in v. good cond.
French Atax stem 90 mm
Pair of Balilla side pull brakes from 1960's I believe
Pair of Universal side pull brakes, no model number.
IRD 1 1/8" front cable hangar, nice quality piece
Cinelli 42 cm Giro D' Italia handlebar ( 64/42 )

Pictures on request!

Excellent. Thanks for the reply. May have a line on a FD from another forum member. Still interested in the 7402 RD and chainrings. Please do let me know what you find when you have a chance. Thanks again!

Interested but no trade bait?

RaleighSport 08-16-16 08:17 AM

This one is definitely a long shot:
ISO: Raleigh branded (both hubs and rims) 27" fixed gear and/or single speed wheelset. (Alloy)
FT: My pile is quite large, but contains virtually no campy. Let me know what you desire.

If you can decipher which one you need let me know, one of my first buying mistakes was a trashed uo8 that came with one of those bands.. I believe I have a few others in the pile as well.

I hate to admit it, but the frame was bare when received and I've not been able to pinpoint the specific one needed.

I'm fairly positive the original shifters were Simplex Prestige:

http://velobase.com/CompImages/Shift...13964FCCF.jpeg

And I have the single-sided variation. I managed to get a Shimano shifter solidly mounted on there, but am obviously missing the other side:

Lemme know if you're willing to dig any of yours out!

Awesome! I'll PM and we see what I have in trade for you. Thanks :thumb:

ISO: Shimano Crane or Titlist. Short or long cage, from my reading the short cage will handle 28t. A simplex derailleur that can be used on a integrated hanger would also work.

Edit: Found one, disregard post.

ISO Decent V Brakes, 3x6 Shifter/brake lever for flat bars.

Have decided to convert my Trek 620 to V-Brakes. Not sure if I want to invest in V-Brake drop bar levers or to convert to flat bars. Let's see what's out there.

rccardr 08-17-16 07:05 AM

I have a like-new set of the Tektro drop bar levers for V-brakes & Canti's, black finish on the lever, perfect hoods.
Won't use 'em, yours for $15 and shipping.

V-brakes and cantilever brakes need different levers. But it sounds like you have what he needs.

I have the silver version if you want those instead. Same dealio. Do you need the brakes? I have some tektros in the bin.

Rccardr, I'll grab the drop bar levers if they are indeed the V-Brake kind. Tom is right, cantilever and center/sidepull brakes take regular road levers while V-Brakes are their own thing. PM me; can paypal.

TimmyT - some basic tektro linear pulls would be great -- need anything in trade? I can probably find some on a junk bike etc., but I may hit you up later. Silver would make sense for an '84 Trek, but I have some black hardware elsewhere and a black rear fender. Black V-Brakes might complete the build!

I don't have black v-brakes, but I've got a short pair of tektro minis and a longer pair. The problem with the ones on hybrids is that they can be too long for a road bike, but a local co-op would have something, so that may be a way to go.

You'll want to measure your frame from the center of the post to the spot where you want the brake cable to cross. There's a max and min measurement for this. Originally, I got a pair that was "safe" for fender clearance but realized that I wanted a dynamo light, so I got a shorter set.

Check with your co-op, otherwise if you have a spare bell that works of just about any style or color, I'd probably go for that.

Standalone 08-17-16 11:22 PM

The 620 Fork is particularly narrow in terms of post position. It took a while to get cants that worked. That sure was a job! Will try options. I don't think that there is a currently up and running co-op in New Haven these days.

ISO: friction bar end shifters. Decent french or late 70's japanese frame, preferably with bad paint.

gaucho777 08-19-16 05:04 PM

ISO:
Black Flite saddle (original version from the early 90s - last item needed for my Merlin Ti build)
--
Bump on a couple other items mentioned above:
Dura-Ace 7402 RD (okay if some hardware missing; it's a replacement for another broken unit)
Chorus or Record RD, (post-2001) 9- or 10-speed , medium cage
Brake barrel adjuster for 7402 brake (something like this, but I don't need an exact match)

HAVE:
Lots of various wheels, rims and FWs
C-Record crankset, 175mm, early 90s version, nice condition with intact logo.
San Marco Rolls saddle - white (low miles, but minor scuffing by nose)
Suntour Power-ratchet DT friction shifters
Shimano 600 6-speed (SL-6400) shifters
Shimano 600 RD-6208 RD
Shimano 600 brake levers (BL-6208)
Shimano 105 BR-1055 front brake
Campagnolo Triomphe (maybe Victory?) long-cage RD, replacement pulleys
Modolo Equipe brake calipers (white)
Avocet Racing saddle
Avocet Touring-WI (women's) saddle
Used tubulars
Vintage blue nylon handlebar bag with stem mount.
More wheels, FWs, rims
Other stuff, just ask

bacon53 08-19-16 11:18 PM

ISO touring frame from the late 80's or so. Ideally a 52cm, lugged frame and fork, canti posts, decent tubing, etc. Paint condition doesn't much matter, just no structural damage. Only need frame and fork.

I have access to quite a wide selection of parts, new and used, let me know what you're looking for.

Thanks!
