I wonder how long that will last.

Hehehe, I couldn't find it so maybe someone will get a great deal. Is it even listed in the "Bicycle" category?

If it fits you, yes. I personally love the pastels/tints of the '80s bikes. I think it would look nice with the all black Shimano 105 kit.

This guy has 2 Raleigh Competitions. Both nice, but I think hes a little optomistic on the prices.

Anybody interested in a $150 Raleigh Super Course? It's in my size, but alas, I'm tapped out, and besides, it's not my favorite color anyway (always helps to have a reason to pass up a beautiful 531 Raleigh...)

YoKev 09-05-06 06:12 PM

That Raleigh is nice, but does it really have nervex lugs!?

Scam

I bet the Paramount for $150 is a scam. The owner knows it is collectable, but he asks just 10% of its actual worth? Why, because he is going to steal the money you will send him.
Craigs list is filled with scams like this. They are especially common in cars and trucks. The tip offs are
1)PRICE-a late model low mileage car for about 25% of market value."If it is too good to be true, it is too good to be true."
2)The picture usually will have a background that doesn't "look like" the city it is in.
3)The ad won't say "located uptown"-a specific part of town-because you aren't going to be directed to meet "uptown", a local who wants to see it will be ignored. Out of town buyers will be courted. responded
4) Occasionally the ad will say the vehicle is overseas, but can't be licensed there, so the seller has to sell it at home.
5)PRICE- I did mention the price, right!! This is the dead giveaway that it is a ripoff one way or another(could be stolen, but usually you will be asked to send $$$).
Luck,Charlie

I can't afford it, but a great deal for somebody. Paramount $225. It's local for me.

Borrow the money, I've never seen a purple one! Worst comes to worst, sell it for a massive profit.

Doctor Who 09-10-06 03:37 PM

Someone should let me PayPal them money and then ship that purple Paramount to me.

1970's Raliegh 3-speed, SF craigslist

I don't know if this is old enough to interst any of you "English racer" fans. It's a Raliegh 3-speed from the 1970's (apparently sometime between 1974 and 1979 - the seller isn't certain). Anyway, here it is. Seller is askin $100 - since I'm not into that end of the C&V specturm, I have no idea if this is a good price or not. If you like this sort of stuff, I'm guessing that you do, though.

FYI - Vallejo is 20 miles or so NNE of SF, Fairfield another 10 miles or so past Vallejo.

I called him and he is not really interested in shipping. (I live in PA) He does not seem to know much about the bike. I can't tell from the pictures whether it is a Series Style Paramount (made in Japan) or an American made. Any ideas? Looks like a Columbus Sticker on the fork.

The obvious solution is to enlist the aid of a local BF'er.

Hint hint.

I would rig it so I could ride the bike in the car. Then I would have a super bike-car. That would be awesome.
