Bruce Gordon BLT Touring Bicycle - $1400 (rohnert pk / cotati)

Reply to: sale-137108218@craigslist.org
Date: 2006-02-26, 12:18AM PST

This is a Bruce Gordon BLT. Bought it in 2002. It is in fine shape. Hasn't had much use as my touring trips were scuttled due to the side effects of sexual intercourse (I am a dad now). Therefore, I am needing to sell my BLT. If you know about BLT's you know what they are worth. This one is in good shape, no accidents, everything stock (excepting my SPD pedals). I'm not sure what the actual size is, but I'm 6'0" and it fits me fine. Let me know if you're interested.

This one's been on Boston's CL for the last couple of days. Let's see, we know it's blue, it's a 10-speed road bike, it's a bargain at $35. Did I mention that it's blue?

Here is a brilliant commentary on an ad for a 1988 Bridgestone MB-4. $200 is probably a little high but to call it a Walmart quality bike is just ignorant. https://austin.craigslist.org/bik/137261255.html
Since it will probably be deleted soon, here is the text.
COME ON PEOPLE, 200 FOR A WAL-MART LEVEL BIKE IS RIDICULOUS. SELL FOR WHAT THINGS ARE WORTH PLEASE! STOP TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF YOUR CRAP.

If anyone is interested, here is the link to the bike.

Two more Numbskulls for your enjoyment.

Thanks to Neal (nlerner) for calling my attention to this one:

https://boston.craigslist.org/bik/136964821.html

Wonder what that seller was drinking last night.

Here's another one...a pair of Raleigh Superbes for only $1200. And don't worry about the reputation of the seller - he's got Private Feedback:

BAH!

Whoops, forgot this one:

https://boston.craigslist.org/bik/137211476.html

Sure, it could be a '68 Paramount, but it could just as well be a '68 Sports Tourer, my friend, in which case it ain't worth $1000.

Gotta love the "leather seat covered in chrome" - mind your grammar, my friend.

Well, Kurt, Boston's CL is just ripe with winners this week as in this one below. Hey, I'd pay $400 for a goldish/green bike in a heartbeat!

Don't know the model - not on bike - but a very expensive bike in great cond - a few scratches - a goldish/green color I think - a little colorblind, I am!

This was a gift so I can't say what it costs new but if you know the manufacturer - check out their website - you'll see $500. - $3,000.

www.motobecane.com

****I will take any resonable offer in the $400. range

Call 617 539-3242 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. (until Mar 1st or after the 6th.)

Not that I want this one, but it helps to spell Raleigh (or any manufacturer correctly)

I guess he/she was recalling the old adage. I before E except after C. But then all he/she had to do was look at the frame.

Ahahaha.

That's the second-worst insult I've recieved through Craigslist.

The worst one was some hate email with the words "You Goinna Hang, Bike Doc!" or something to that extent. Sounds like someone had a'been a guzzling a bit too much beer while watching Bonanza and Gunsmoke re-runs on TV Land.

Not that rare, but other then that, looks like a fine ad to me. It'd be gone on the Miami C-list by now for $95.

I sold an '82 Free Spirit FS-3 for $85 on our local C-list once before, sold pretty quick too. See pic. Color was a beautiful dark Carmine Red - never mind the tomato color as the camera picked up.

Take care,

-Kurt
