A friend let me ride his Bob Jackson trike once!

Fixed gear bikes have nothing on a road trike!

But I've heard that racing trikes are quite popular in England. Madness, I say! :p

Jus' sayin'...TRY before you BUY! ;)

Ya, I have a sweet old trike conversion and its a blast! I am talkin' 2 wheel motion (like a lowrider with hydraulics) and lifting weight off of the drive wheel so it will burn out on pavement! It's a ton of fun and the bike handles the biggest wald front basket loaded to the hilt with no problems. I'd just like to find a classy version of the junky one I have now. And yes. It appears they are popular in England. Its weird seeing vintage lightweight trikes for sure!

WTB: Phil Wood 26tpi BB cups

Anyone have a set of Phil Wood 1.370"x26tpi (old Raleigh threading) BB cups they no longer need? I have an old Raleigh Record frame with a Shimano UN72 BB and a square taper crankset ready to replace the original cottered cranks and BB, but I need the Phil Wood rings.

reduce, reuse, rebicycle

If the old Raleigh cups are still good a #5 square taper Spindle will get you up and running.

Thats how my Grand Prix is set up now.

I can't find one online. Harris Cyclery appears to be out. Anybody know of other online sources?

Thanks, redneckwes - I haven't opened up the BB yet, but the original cranks/BB seem OK (tight, but smooth). I'll probably have to crack it open once I get enough daylight to start riding hard in the evenings after work, and I'm not real keen on putting the cottered cranks back on.

I'd be willing to bet those cups are fine, Raleigh BB's seem to have been made from some hard stuff.

Any body have an ok set (or more) of used tubulars that they dont want. I need them for some spare wheels and I dont mind repairing them if they don't hold air.

How about ones that have the base tape coming off? It would definitely have to be reglued, I don't know that I want to tackle it myself.

i would be ok with that, PM sent

ISO: Four to six spokes, 302-304mm. DB 14/15 would be nice, but not necessary.

Got a deal on a wheel, but need to replace some spokes.

Polished aluminum handlebar

I need an aluminum handlebar, silver in color, with the following specs:

40cm width, < 300grams, 120-140 drop, 65-75 reach with a 25.8/26.0 preferred clamp diameter. 31.8 would work only as a last resort.

I am setting up an '87 Peugeot PX-10 for my daughter and need a bar of the above dimensions to ensure a good fit. I've found this bar in black but it doesn't really match the old silver look of the rest of the bike.
I've checked all the places I know of and many internet sites as well but am coming up dry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am also looking for a seven speed freewheel; 14-30 or 14-32 for the same bike. I've found and installed a 14-28 in the meantime.

How about a 13-30?

I have one of these on the Miyata 512; works great.

How about a cinelli giro d'italia bar and stem combo (26.4mm)? Not that I have it to offer.. but I am sure there are people on the forum who do. The giro is the shorter drop/reach bar on the cinelli series.

I have one of those bars (40cm) that I don't plan on using, but not the matching stem.

Has anybody got a spare bb axle nut floating around? I was surprised not to find one on loose screws.

Describe said BB and the axle nut you're looking for. I have a couple varieties of Sugino BBs with a couple extra bits downstairs.

The bb is a Hatta from a mid 80s Trek 400 with a male spindle and nuts. I always assumed these were all pretty standard.

Here's a pretty poor photo of its mate.

Thanks for your suggestion. They don't list my freewheel choices or the 13-30 either. Any others?

Rick

Thanks for your offer USA Zorro. I have a 60mm 26.0 stem which I need to use to reduce the reach. The matching stem to the Giro d'Italia bar is a 120mm. If a 60mm-70mm is available, I would be quite willing to use your handlebar. If not, I'll continue the search. I have a few vintage parts. Let me know what you need and I'll try to help you out as well.

Thanks for your suggestion cyclotoine. I'm open to alternatives to achieving the proper fit.

Let me know if you come across the proper stem. Sending a PM will be more likely to get my attention than posting here.

I know I have at least one extra one that looks like that. I can't be certain about the sizes and the threading from a picture, but I'd be willing to send you one for the cost of shipping. Hopefully it will fit.

I've got a Specialized Airforce Team floor pump without any of the head/hose assembly. Specialized doesn't have parts for it any more. the Topeak Twinhead doesn't work. Anyone have a hose/head assembly for this?

sciencemonster 01-22-08 10:26 PM

I am looking for a lightweight Raleigh mixte frame, if anyone has one. I'd prefer just the frame, but I quess it doesn't matter if it's a whole bike. I'm making a bike for my wife that we can use when riding hills.

Thanks!
