Guessing they may be the real deal but like Cuda... have never seen fenders like this on a bike like your Raleigh.

HSean 05-18-10 08:31 AM

Maybe canadian Raleigh aint the same as american ones, i've seen american ones with alloy brakes, all canadian are steel lol. this is the second Raleigh that i've had with these fenders, the other was a black one with rod brakes

Wheel sizing, e.g. 700c is a 622mm diameter rim (common on road bikes), 650c is a 571mm rim (common on smaller road bikes, time trial, triathlon, etc).

I just had a guy here who could have used that Fuji -- he was 6'2" and way to large for the 58cm bike I had to show him.

I had her pegged for a nice city style upright like a Raleigh when she asked.

I have been on the hunt for something just like that for a week to no avail.

Yes, that appears to be decent and in decent condition. Are you in Italy? I've never seen a Benotto mountain bike.

jet sanchEz 05-18-10 11:17 PM

This was about an hour's drive away---a very well-priced De Rosa in my size with C Record parts and a Brooks Professional saddle

I picked up an '89 Dave Scott Ironman Expert today, full Suntour GPX, with the only thing really out of place being the Mongoose saddle. I suspect my seller found it at a garage sale without a saddle and thought a replacement from some previously-picked Walmart bike would suffice, as his yard was full of all kinds of stuff. He didn't seem to realize that the seatpost was backward.

Could definitely use some new hoods, tape, tires, and the scratch near the rear brake bridge is kind of too noticeable to me, but overall I think it was a good find.

jstewse 05-19-10 05:45 AM

Nice find! Nice scratch too, it will be hard with that fancy marbleized looking paint, but you might be able to touch it up. Good Luck!

Nice find.
Those hoods will clean up well with several different things. I like Soft Scrub with Bleach. Some other things may make them a little gummy, but I wouldn't worry about it that much.

You'll find paint will clean up well. If you can disassemble, clean and touch up the frame (if needed), and then reassemble with clean and lubed parts, you'll find that bike is one heck of a bargain. OEM saddle was a Turbo (in suede). Excellent find. My size, and envy is the color of the day.

Paint is a smoked fade blue. Easily touched up with a similar shade of blue or gray. The white has a little pearl to it.

I had a good weekend at yard sales and picking up free bikes and it has been pouring rain ever since so no pics yet but it's going to clear by Thurs and I will. The first and best I picked up late in the day on Friday at a ys a Motobecane Grand Jubile in fantastic original condition with the owners manual from the original owner. I am thinking a 1977 as it is full Suntour Cyclone,Suntour rear drop outs and SR crankset, stem and seat post ,Rigida Wheelset with Normandy hubs and a Ideal leather saddle. It is red and black 531 tubing, price $40.

The Second bike my wife bought me as a early birthday gift was a almost mint Sears 20" purple Spyder banana seat bicycle from the original owners who were German, the wife said he is always cleaning and polishing it since they bought it new along with her 73 Schwinn that he won't let her sell.Paid $55.

I then picked up a woman's Univega Rover Sport in good shape for $5,I can't find out any info on it though like the year and what it sold for when it was new,the best part is I have someone that is interested in it when I have it finished and come up with a price.

I picked up a Schwinn pixie for $7 that should clean up. Then a friend dropped off some bikes and has since picked me up 4 more, a Sun three wheeler in great shape, a Ciginal 12 speed tandem that needs all new cables, chains, tubes, tires and handle bars due to being left outside for the last 2yrs. The frame paint and wheels are perfect.

HSean 05-19-10 08:50 AM

Heres a somewhat better picture of that mongoose, I also got a almost new lawnmower and a box of vintage gaming systems with games in the garbage lol
