Like I needed another bike.... I picked up my second Schwinn World Voyageur tonight, in Cool Lemon, and even my size. Damn, decision time is coming...
At least my other WV is not my size, so it will be easier to let go (and will be the source for the original saddle this one is missing). The other WV I have is orange, which would have matched the wife's Element.
Overall condition was really, really, good. Check out the rust free pedals and the super clean crankset. Bought it from a picker that got it at a storage locker auction..

here's a long distance "saved from the dump". I bought this from a fella on the RRB forums. His neighbor put it out to the curb for trash, and he couldn't let that happen because he thought it was unique. I have an inordinate liking for old Huffys so I had it shipped to me. I converted it to a single speed with a bmx freewheel and a Tioga bmx chainring. I'm going to put bullhorns on it when I find a set cheap, or maybe just cut up a set of drop bars. It's a 26"x24" set up.
There's been some chatter on this forum about these in years past.
I'm having the hardest time finding a stem and a seatpost to fit it.
edit:
had to use cheap stamped steel Wald stem for now. Cut up some aluminum drop bars, and found a very short seatpost to fit it. Cranks are 1/2" thread, so nothing decent I have fits:
goofy but fun bike. The disc makes a cool sound while riding.

Nice catch 65r. I really like mine; running Schwalbe Marathons on it. I had it on a rail trail a couple days ago after installing a new cartridge bottom bracket. Runs solid with great brakes.

Yeah, I missed that connection... My wife thought that stood for Waynesville. I will let her know.

This bike was abandoned in the basement of my house. It's a Pegasus San Remo. Haven´t been able to find out much about it except for what the stickers say. Rode it SS for a couple of months, but now the frame has cracked...
Will probably try to weld it back together eventually, but in the meantime this is the new project. Raleigh Record Ace, Reynolds 531. Payed ~$150 for it here in Sweden.
Best catch to date for me has to be my DBS Professionale with a Holdsworth frame and full Dura Ace group.

I found this on Craigslist. It's going to need some parts, but it is so original that I am going to try and stay as true to original as possible. I know it is just a mountain bike, but I always liked the look of older mountain bikes with skin wall tires.

I think we'll start to see the collectibility of these earlier mountain bikes start to inch up a bit. Love the front hub!

lol . . . well, isn't that fun.
I find it interesting that at first glance the bikes look so similar but when you look close the details come out. That's an interesting collection given the Excelle was Lotus' most popular model and the Legend their most iconic (in my opinion and substantiated through catalog text). It kind of takes you back to 1981 and you've just taken both bikes on a test ride. The Legend is $130.00 more than the Excelle ($400.00 vs $270.00), which will you buy?
The Legend is a 1980, or probably a 1980 1/2, given the lack of head tube badge and water bottle bosses. 1981 models had bosses and badges. 1980 models used a short cage derailleur, narrower gearing and slightly different seat tube decals. The Excelle is a 1981-82.

Yes, I really love that rack. Nothing touches the paint, built in cable lock for the two bikes, and best yet, a built in work stand! Oh yeah, and it matches my wife's Element (that was the most important part). Took a while to find one used, as they sell for quite a bit new.... (And quite a bit used too).

1970's Kabuki by Bridgestone "Super Light"
Not sure what year or really much else about it.
Some google-fu tells me it's probably mid to late 70's. It is most likely aluminum and the "lugs" should be aluminum cast around the tubes themselves while the they were in a jig or something like that.
Not sure about it's value or any history of the bike. It's gonna need a complete overhaul. Everything cleaned and repacked. Some parts are gonna need a rust bath. New cables, housing, etc. The tubes still hold air but i will most likely just replace them. The tires have some kind of moss growing on the sidewalls so they will need to be replaced. Wheels appear tru which is one plus.
All the components appear to be the original parts
Derailleurs are
Suntour stem shifters
Suntour VGT luxe (rear)
Suntour Compe-V (front)
SR Cranks w/ BS crests on the crank arms (Bridgestone?)
Dia Compe center-pulls and levers
Sakae Champion Bars
Some Chrome top tube cable clips
Araya Alloy 27 x 1 1/4 rims
Hubs are nasty and i can't tell what they are.
I only paid $30.00
I was way on the north side of Atlanta for work and I went to pick up a parts MTB I had arranged on CL. On the way back saw a bunch of bikes in a guys yard. I wish I had gone there 1 st but oh well still scored a cool bike for super cheap. Guy had others I wanted too but my spending money had run out.

Searching craigslist for a friend and I came across this nice 1985 Trek 400 series. For $160 I couldn't pass it up...too many nice parts! Nitto Moustache bars, Panaracer TG tires, Turbo saddle, Shimano 600 hubs, SKS fenders, etc. I don't plan to do too much to it besides add a chain & pedals, install the fenders and get it riding. It will be a nice compliment to my geared vintage Trek

WV is not flat..
Picked this up today at a Flea market. It is a 1982 Motobecane Profil 2. I have never seen one like it and thought it was cool. The gentleman selling it gave me $5.00 off the price because I could pronounce the name correctly. It needs a little TLC, but should clean up pretty well. The reflective tape on the seat stays could be a bear to get off.

Nice Motobecane! Looks like it has the value variant of the DA AX Brake calipers. And whats with the seat binder bolt? I'd like to see that more close up.

Hi,
I got my first C&V yesterday, also my first road bike.
It's a 1981 (or 1982) Miyata 912. It's a 54 cm frame, a perfect fit for me.
It has been changed to a flat-bar but will be changed back to drops very soon, although I think I'll use "modern" parts. The previous owner was to large for the frame, that's why he ran it with flat bars and the stem way above the max line. The rear derailleur is a Sun Tour cyclone m-II, although according to catalog it should have been Shimano 600 EX (arabesque). Brakes are modern, otherwise it seems to have original parts. Paint is quite good and it does not appear to have been in heavy use.
I will get fenders (if I can fit them) and a rack for it and use it for commuting, among other things.
(please excuse the crappy pictures)
